I just picked up a Shadow Warriors Hanzo Hattori from the Alfrex line and it's got a signature on the box. The seller offered no information and it doesn't look like Sonny Chiba's or anyone elses that I can find from the modicum of information about the Shadow Warriors cast/crew on imdb/wikipedia but was thinking it might be an Alfrex employee/dignitary?

I can reasonably safely say it was bought at an event of some description as it came with the original flyer and an 'Event exclusive accessory limited to 100' which is still sealed which makes sense that it was signed there too. But not sure what's in there, so if anyone knows what's in there it'd be nice to know too.

There's so little information online about these figures, I ran out of options very quickly so thought I'd ask in here.

I solved the mystery.
The booklet inside has Ryo Takasugi as the Art Director.

And I must say, even by modern standards, this is one absolutely beautiful figure.

So is this Sony Chiba or Soy China?

Usually these are sold in WS festivals with special event approval by licensors.

The figure is fantastic.

Found out the 'limited to 100' bonus item was a more accurate head piece for his cowl.
Standard issued was just a pleather rectangle.

Figure is freaking awesome and I’m a huge fan of Alfrex figures. I still have a ton of them in my collection, but most are boxed up now. Congrats on an awesome addition and the only Ninja you will ever need to display 🥷

Yeah, I'm really loving these figures, they're 'of a time' but the care taken with everything is phenmonenal. I was collecting Dragon/DID/etc in the 90s and these have a nice bit of that history in them. Haha, as DEATHASYLUM says, it's one the only ninja figure I'll need and I've been looking for the perfect one for many, many years. It was only our recently with our beginning of watching Shadow Warriors that I seriously entertained this Hanzo Hattori.

I did pre-empt the body not being ideal by picking up a Gangland to swap out, but I found just tightening up the screws a little in the calves/thighs gave him a nice bit of stability. The hips are a little loose; that said, he's held this pose unassisted for a few days, so it's nothing really concerning.

It took me a whole afternoon to get him all dressed which was such a lot of fun, but I'm not too jazzed about redoing all the belt tying and such just yet. Already hunting for an Alfrex Jubei Yagyu, which seems an invetiability at this point as we're starting on that series tonight after seeing the movie a few months back.

Jubei Yagyu is a badass figure too, but be aware of his vest at this age. The fake leather is shot and sticks/crumbles out of the plastic bag. It’s easy to remove and clean though and you can still rock the all black cloth vest.
Oh yeah I need to wash it off..just sticky
