If you're not into the troopers, that's probably why you kind of like it. :lol

:lol That could be. But I fear the real reason is even lamer. I think that little blue stripe over his eye is cool. I know, I should be ashamed, and I am. *hangs head in shame*

I don't think they'd set the run at a ridiculous number. Especially for a TFU test piece. That wouldn't make sense to me.

Additionally, I'm quite surprised nobody has come up with the idea of picking up more of these to strip down to plain white and fill out their army even more. Plenty of freaks were bent that the Storm Troopers sold out as fast as they did and were left wanting more than what was available. This is just the same sculpt with a little extra blue paint, isn't it?!

It wouldn't be very easy at all with the amount of blue on this thing. It would take more than one coat of white paint and and could be mucked up very easily. Too risky for $90 and too much effort just to make something standard white.

As opposed to stripping the figure of the armor, rubbing the loose armor down with turp to get all the blue off and recoating it with either gloss or matte? If it's anything like Obi, it's cast in white.

Maybe. That's still an awful lot of effort just to make it white.

Breakdown aside, it'd take less than an hour. I've seen customs that take easily 10 times that amount of time to add battle damage to armor, fray a robe just right, or to even custom paint a head that looks not much different from the original. So I guess it all depends.

So were these Commander Stormtroopers meant to be around at the time of ANH and onwards? Just wondering how they explain why we never see the m in the movies. Anyway he looks like a bucket of paint has been thrown over him. Just showed my partner and the first thing said was “oh he looks like he is wearing sneakers.”

On a closer look, they seem more like bowling shoes :rotfl. Anyway, these troopers fit in between ROTS and ANH, when the armor was changing to that of the common Stormtrooper but they still had paint aps like AOTC and ROTS.

That's a nice figure!

Too bad the exclusive is exactly what I was expecting, but I'm not getting them all, so I have no real right to complain....

I'm really digging the paint scheme, and I think I'm the only one who actually likes this guy....

You're not alone. I think he's pretty cool too and it would be nice to have even more from the game. So hopefully this is just the first, and not the only, offering from TFU.

Stormtroopers are still pretty easy to preorder from places other than Sideshow (just checked BBTS, Alterego, and Cornerstore Comics, and I'm sure there are others). I doubt that anyone is desperate enough to try and mod one of these just to make a regular white stormtrooper.

I've just been over to Rebelscum.com and they all seem to love the figure there...

I love being the minority where stormtroopers are concerned...

Ive ordered so much over the last year, that I just had to say no to this, havent played the game and dont intend too and tbh dont think the paint scheme is that good looks a bit cheap imho

The exclusive stand hmmm OK, Ive got my hand hovering over the Utapau clone Cancel button and usually the one thing thats stops me cancelling and waiting for the cheaper regular on secondary market is the cool exclusive.

and these stands aint

Pass...I already pre-ordered the OT stormy. And I am happy w/it. It does look nice but not for the price. Maybe $50 or under I will consider it...:lol:D

I'll be getting it but the regular version and from another retailer since Sideshow's shipping costs and taxes for European customers are sky high.

I'm not interested in the exclusive stand either. They should have done something like a mini-enviorama, like the new Hot Toys Predator's stands or the Battle Damaged Hot Toys Endoskeleton stand, not just a simple paint.
