It wouldn’t be Halloween without a little trick! (Photo: Thinkstock)
People will travel near and far to find the scariest haunted house — and the scarier the better.
That’s why the story of a Texas man eating a teenage boy inside of a haunted house went viral last week.
But there is one problem with the story … it isn’t true.
The hoax was started on the website Now8News, which is known for posting ridiculously false stories. And this particular post was so shocking and gruesome that it quickly spread across the Internet.
According to the site, a group of people were visiting Fright Night Haunted Dreams in Austin, Texas, when they stumbled upon a crazy-looking man biting a boy. At first, they thought it was part of the attraction, but as they got closer, they saw that the teenage boy was actually screaming out in pain.
The false story goes on to say that a man named Mike Sullivan was nearby, pulled out his concealed weapon, and shot the cannibal in the arm and leg —injuring him just enough to make him stop. Unfortunately, the young boy died by the time the authorities arrived.
But luckily, this entire story was made up by someone who has watched far too many Halloween movies. Now you can head to your favorite haunted house this weekend without the fear you will be eaten.
But we can’t make any promises that you won’t get scared!
Happy Halloween!

SWEET! Thanks, buddy! Just switched it. NOW it feels like I'm ready for Spook 2017!!!
What minute were you born?People actually fell for that story?!
Well I guess there really is a sucker born every minute.
What minute were you born?
That's lucky...The 7th minute.
That's lucky...
It hasn't helped me on the lotto though.
So who would like an update for your signature? I'm making them to order this year. Last year, I made a ton and a lot weren't used because they were lost in the thread.
Still time.
I need to win the lottery so I can fulfill my dream of owning a gold plated toilet.
My booty doesn't feel right sitting on a plain porcelain one. I feel like a common peasant.
