Yeah, that was at House of Torment, here in Austin, Texas. It's okay though because it was during a Texas Chainsaw Massacre showcase. It added so much to the realism.

Geez! They don't fool around during Halloween.

Ok, I had to look that one up..... :)

It wouldn’t be Halloween without a little trick! (Photo: Thinkstock)

People will travel near and far to find the scariest haunted house — and the scarier the better.

That’s why the story of a Texas man eating a teenage boy inside of a haunted house went viral last week.

But there is one problem with the story … it isn’t true.

The hoax was started on the website Now8News, which is known for posting ridiculously false stories. And this particular post was so shocking and gruesome that it quickly spread across the Internet.

According to the site, a group of people were visiting Fright Night Haunted Dreams in Austin, Texas, when they stumbled upon a crazy-looking man biting a boy. At first, they thought it was part of the attraction, but as they got closer, they saw that the teenage boy was actually screaming out in pain.

The false story goes on to say that a man named Mike Sullivan was nearby, pulled out his concealed weapon, and shot the cannibal in the arm and leg —injuring him just enough to make him stop. Unfortunately, the young boy died by the time the authorities arrived.

But luckily, this entire story was made up by someone who has watched far too many Halloween movies. Now you can head to your favorite haunted house this weekend without the fear you will be eaten.

But we can’t make any promises that you won’t get scared!

Happy Halloween!

Way to blow the urban legend, Madden!
I live in Austin, and we love to tell that story to the teenagers here.
I think the first time I heard it was like five or even fifteen years ago. It's been a great urban legend to pass on around here. The guy who wrote the article can't really take credit for that.

I hang my head in shame and will never show my face in here again. [emoji37]

I have done several medium size haunts over the years. We would have groups of 5 or so go through and one year i had my son go with the groups acting just like another visitor. Making sure he asked if it was ok to go with the group so everyone saw him. Part way through a monster would jump out grab him and drag him into the darkness screaming. later towards the end he would be on a table wearing a fake shirt with blood and guts being eaten by the monster. He would be reaching out and screaming for help. freaked a few people out :lol

Freakin' awesome!
Staging someone into the crowd isn't new but I love how you had your son involved, that is, being dragged away from the group only to be seen later on revealing his demise.
