I was always baffled as to why they didn't offer them sooner. I seem to remember they discussing it a little, but don't remember the reasons they gave for not being able to do it. I'm no businessman, but it seems like offering gift cards is a win-win scenario that seems like it would increase sales. I know I'll tell people to get them for me!

As long as they don't have expiration dates.
Macy's had expiration dates with their Gift Cards years ago. I haven't purchased any in a very long time when I discovered that. Not sure if they still do.

Here in Washington gift cards are not allowed by law to expire. Not sure if that pertains to Sideshow or not though.

Eh, I still think it's pretty lame. It's not like I'd be getting gifts in the hundreds of dollars, and it's not like they'd stick around for long enough to matter currency wise. And you just need a U.S. billing address anyway, so it's not like that's impossible to get in some cases. It's just silly. Whatever, I didn't want any gift cards anyway!!

Wow, just got an email from Sideshow and it looks like I won 3rd place in the pumpkin contest this year!

Oh, and quick update to everyone waiting on a Spook kit from me, I've been super super busy and unfortunately haven't had a chance to ship yet. I'll get them in the mail this weekend and hopefully they'll be showing up early next week. Sorry for the delay.

Freaktacular Secret Santa 2015​

I know it's a bit early, but let’s get this going! I don’t want this to be stressful for anyone—there’s already a lot going on for people this time of year—but there need to be some ground rules.

If you say you’re going to participate THEN PARTICIPATE. If anyone gets a gift and doesn’t send one then I’m personally banning them from any contests I hold here. I’ll also announce it in the Freaktacular thread so everyone knows you didn’t reciprocate. We didn't have a problem last year so let's not start now.

Gift value of around $20. If you want to surprise someone with more then that’s your prerogative—I’m sure the lucky person won't complain.

Send your gift so it will be received before Christmas, and we can all post what we got starting Christmas day.

Send me a PM with:

1. Your name and shipping address.

2. State whether or not you will send a gift overseas (one way to avoid overseas shipping costs may be to buy something directly from that country’s Amazon website and have it ship from there).

3. Include an license/character of interest just to give your Secret Santa an idea of what you like--this doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed anything related to it but for those that want the information they’ll have it.

When I get a PM, I’ll add your name to the list and keep it updated in the Freaktacular thread.


Let me know you want to participate by Tuesday, 12/1/2015. You’ll get paired up and information sent to you before the weekend. Gifts will probably need to be sent by around 12/15-12/17 at the latest to make sure they get there by Christmas.

I love that you can combine them with reward points and coupons. I was afraid they'd put restrictions on them--not that there would be any reason to since they are the same as cash, but with SS you never know what they're going to do.

Amen to that! They would be worthless otherwise...
