Re: Freaktacular 2015

I got to see the American Werewolf in London wolf up close and personal when universal did a haunted house based on the movie, they made you get very closed to the puppets lol
made feel like being attacked by a lion or something, very creepy

Re: Freaktacular 2015

This reminds me of the time I went to Six Flags in Gurnee and went to the haunted house. Now normally, I'm a ***** about haunted houses and stuff, but sometimes I just don't get fazed by it. Well I was in the last one, which was like some creepy clown based one, and the entrance was like some meat storage with hooks and ****. Well, I went with my sister, brother-in-law, my niece, and nephew; and they all got put into one group. I got held back and was sent with a dude and his girlfriend and some lady and her 2 daughters. Well the the boyfriend and girlfriend split up because they couldn't see ****, and as we were going flickering lights would break out and something would scuttle by and what not, I remember the girlfriend ****ing jumped out her skin and dug her face into my back and wrapped her arms around me. :lol

Well, we were continuing on and she didn't let go, and then the lady took her daughter's hand and ran through the whole thing, assuming the daughters were holding hands; well the youngest daughter was left behind and so she randomly grabbed my hand and dug her face into my side (while the girlfriend was still clutching on lol).

The thing sucked because it was pitch black and not much was going on, so when we finally got out, the chick realized I wasn't her boyfriend and turned so red, I started bursting on the spot. Then the lady and her daughter were yelling at the attendants saying their daughter was lost and blah blah blah, then she saw she was walking out with me and was relieved but eye'd me down like I was some pedophile. :rotfl

Same thing happened earlier except it was some shot-caller wannabe gangster that yelped out and grabbed me. :lol

Haunted houses are the best. :lol:lol

Re: Freaktacular 2015

Universal's haunted houses are not the scariest (There are much more scarier events) they dont push the fear as much as other events like Netherworld does
But they do spend a lot to make their houses "movie quality" and get the sets to look as movie like as possible.
Their Alien Vs Predator haunted house was pretty awesome, the alien puppets looked very good.

Re: Freaktacular 2015

For a cheesy B movie feeling Werewolf movie you can also try Silver Bullet. Pretty good plot but the effects are what you would expect for a low budget movie in 1985.

That London Underground scene is so good too. Watching that in my younger days was scary.

Re: Freaktacular 2015

I've been to universal but they must do the haunted houses closer to Halloween?

from sept 20 to october 31-nov 1. (Thursday through Sundays) you can get a One day ticket, Another ticket that lets you go the first 10 days or a ticket that lets you go every thursday and sunday
Like I said they are not the scariest event so sometimes people come expecting to be traumatized and they get disappointed but what Universal does is high end special effects and attention to detail in the sets and they spend a lot of money on props and stuff, That's why I love it, Because they take movie properties and try to imitate in a haunted house environment. Sometimes it does feel like standing on a movie set. (It is STILL scary, but people go looking for an extreme experience and Universal cant do that because families still go to the event) As a movie fan I Love the detail they put into it.
Like, they did a Frankenstein house once and the props in the house were from the movie Van Helsing (the props used in the movie) that they had lying around. or for Evil Dead (remake) they built a full cabin facade and had a real car turned upside down and when they did a dracula house they built a castle entrance. They do go all out on the creation of the houses. For Walking Dead they built a whole barn with zombies inside lol
some of the cool sets:

I haven't been to California in a few years, that and the new Harry Potter theme park might make me change that. :lol

Re: Freaktacular 2015

oh man potter is absolutely incredible, Potter DOES feel like being inside the movie.

Re: Freaktacular 2015

**** I went to Florida's Universal 2 weeks before it opened there, was so disappointed :lol

I'm a potter fanboy so that's on the list, is California's potter park bigger?
