Fred barton 1:1 Robocop bust

Think I'm gonna wait to see in hand pics before I pay the final amount on this. Also over at SF Fred has told somebody he can ship it DHL to the UK for $300. So why charge us $12 more? I don't like this man. Something about him stinks. He also keeps telling people sideshow aren't sending this bust internationally which is BS. It doesn't state that anywhere.

that is definitely bs. my local retailer has just put up the bust for preorder. it's obvious they're going thru ss. and at a MUCH cheaper price than what i paid (for shipping) because they would be ordering & shipping in bulk. the only downside is that this local retailer gets their stuff in very very late, sometimes almost 6months later than everyone else.

but what i'm most p1ssed off about is finding out the bust is now available practically at my doorstep when previously i thought it would never be available here other than directly through fred. i'm very tempted to cancel but if he refuses to refund my payment there's not much i can do from here. as it is, just trying to get hold of him to GIVE him money was so difficult, what more trying to get my money back.

has anyone here done a cancellation and gotten their money back without a hitch?

I emailed Fred last week asking about the possibility of a refund of my deposit. He said he can cancel my order, but the deposit is non-refundable (as it says on the invoice). The only problem when i was billed the $425 I never received an invoice and i was never informed this sale was a non-refundable, ALL SALES ARE FINAL deal...if i knew that at the time of ordering, i may've not placed an order. I am gonna think about it a little longer...i wanna keep my order, but there are a couple stipulations in this transaction that i'm not particularly fond of.

I know if i had to i could put through a credit card dispute for the item...however, i want to avoid this at all costs. I don't see why it would be a problem for Fred to reverse the $425.00 charge.

Absolutely no one else on Earth is carrying the bust other than me and Sideshow. Period. Any other internet site who says they are carrying it or has posted a photo of it are just wishful thinkers. They want the biz and the attention to their site so they can sell you other things.



I make them. I either ship them myself to my customers, or I deliver them personally to Sideshow who forwards them to people who ordered through them. SS is charging customers $850 same as me. SS has the exclusive distributorship and are not wholesaling to other sales entities and either am I.



You have my word.



I don’t know how else to put it. Call Sideshow and ask them if you don’t believe me.

Wow. He really is getting quite wound up. He probably shouldnt be in this game. He needs to learn how to keep in contact with his customers and offer assurance instead of getting irate every time somebody emails him.

The problem is, Sideshow has authorized retailers who sell their products. This means they have deals with Sideshow to sell ALL of their products. This means that a website may have the bust for sale, but it will drop-ship from Sideshow. That is probably why they are for sale on other websites. They can also offer a discounted rate, which does suck for people with an existing deposit with him or Sideshow. I hope Fred is correct, but it seems there are loopholes.

sigh. looks like it's not worth canceling then, we'd be losing out on a huge amount. $425 is a lot. and like you, he NEVER told me about any "non-refundable deposit, all sales are final" terms in the 3 phone conversations i had with him. fine, i'll just go with this, but will still email him to ask when EXACTLY he is gonna ship mine out.

i think you may be able to get yours from a retailer that distributes ss stuff. however, my guess is that if the es is indeed 250, then it'll be limited to very select retailers.

i believe my retailer. i know the boss and his word is pretty reliable. he did not order directly from fred, that's for sure. so who else would it be but ss.

like many members here, i have given the man a LOT of benefit of the doubt. but he remains non-communicative, i have not even received so much as a receipt after making full payment more than TWO months ago, let alone any shipping date. i just want my robo bust, that's all. he's not inspiring much confidence that he'll deliver, and now that it's available for much cheaper and more reliably through my local retailer, it's even harder to continue trusting fred.

EXACTLY. so the bust IS definitely available via other sellers because of this "loophole".

Fred told me mine will be shipping out in a few days. I really hope these are packaged well and survive the trip, because if theirs something Fred overlooked about how all these are being shipped and complaints start pouring in.........then Fred and the customers will have BIGGER issues to deal with.

And the whole experience up to this point has not been very smooth...
