Guys, that is the way the original helmet is.
A real fan would note it as a subtle detail.
It isn't going to be fixed, and honestly, I have pictures of the real helmet from robo1, and it's accurate.

It is not the original helmet. This is from the piece of crap Prime Directives mini series.

This is the original:

Yep. Fail post. The original helmet does NOT have a dip. I have done drawings and have photos from the first movie. I know this helmet pretty well. This is a casting flaw plain and simple.

You're 100% right bro, sorry for the bad choice but I'm not home and this is the first one I found.
But even on your picture you can see the wavy line.
By the way, from R1 to the supa shety TV show, the helmet was never retool and stay pretty much the same.
Another picture thanks to Thx217:

1080p screen cap (Sharpened)

The warp has always been there as pointed out by THX - People have never really noticed it.

Remember folks Fred used the original casting molds to make this bust.

Sorry to say this Ash, but it looks like you didn't do enough drawings.

It's perfectly normal, our brain simply doesn't work that way. Especially when Robo has been released for this long(VHS,DVD) and BD has only been available for a while. Without the help of HD. Other then who were REALLY in the know. No one can spot it.

There are QC issues on the piece, no doubt about it. Yes, they shouldn't be there for the price. Yet, Fred is aware of the issues and his team will either fixed or adjusted them. But don't jumped the gun like many here do. That was why I needed to contact Fred and get a clear picture when I got mine. What I want to do with that info is my business, I simply don't have to share it JUST BECAUSE some "fans" ordered it too.

Take Vader's helmet for example, there are just too many things that's going on on the helmets, that only "dedicated" fans knows. That goes without saying. Like any other cases, there are always these people(call themselves "fans", "think" they know stuff) just like to talk about anything they have zero knowledge of. But hey, it's just another day on the freaks board.

The funny thing is how come that Hottoys made it correct? Was it not better if Barton changed the sculpt a little bit?

Hot.....Jesus Christ. :thud: You just proved my point. Thanks for the post. I appreciate it.

My friend, it is important NOT to "change" the originals when making replicas. Just don't try to be "creative" and think it will be better when messing with other people's works that was proven super successful.
