I am not understanding all the hyper criticism of this piece. "Hands dont look right, face looks off, machete looks odd". I am starting to feel like I am reading from that "other forum". You know---the one that compares Sideshow to Cinema of Fears offerings.
This thing is great! There's not a darn thing wrong with it. Look--if it was good enough to prompt rabid fans of this piece (Shai, and Nam are the first that comes to mind), as well as people who don't really care for the character, and even me (a died in the wool Universal Monsters fan who rarely/never spends this much money on "slasher' monsters) to all come together and pounce on it simultaneously, then you know it's just an awesome item.
I am not "getting" the negative comments people are leaving on this item, Nor do I see what they are seeing in this piece. Sorry. It looks great to me. But if you hate it--great! You saved money and allowed someone who will appreciate it to own one! I hate to sound like Old Ralph with this next statement---but you're all going to be sorry. You're all doomed. Doooomed."
I think some of the negativity could be because this was one of the most highly anticipated pieces by sideshow. Some people were going to be let down. Even Hardcore fans. I am a pretty big Jason fan but I just can't love this. I want to but I can't.
Nobody can agree on every piece. Even the Mona Lisa has it's detractors. That is what works of art are all about.
Oh and this Jason kicks the crap out of the Mona Lisa
But I do not doubt that I will regret not getting this because I will see it in hand when my friend gets his. But I can always go over for a visit.
If your hangup is with the face why not just display him wearing the hockey mask? That's the more iconic look anyway.

yeah that's the only way to display him imo. if you asked 100 people who it was without the mask, i'd bet 90 of them wouldn't know who it was.

Thats why I may get the non EX version. The head would just stay in the box. (What's in the Box????)

The print is where it is at with this one and the machete. The switch out head is an uber bonus for me.

They kind of made it a no-brainer to get the exclusive because they threw all of the extra pieces plus a print at you. The regular edition cant stand up to the exclusive in this case.

but i went with the reg...i will never display the machete and unmasked head....the print is awesome just dont justify the purchase when i can get it cheaper...

well that's just great, you cursed it now.
i'm in the same boat with it not fitting with anything else i've got, but it's so well done and with such a low ES, i'm sure i can get rid of it if i don't like it when he arrives.
there's going to be alot of people looking for this when it starts to ship. write that down.
Prodigious ditto on all above! This will be my very first horror related piece. Does Vlad count as horror? I say no.
Anyone know if all of Sideshow's Art Prints are the same size? I only have the Vlad the Impaler one. I'm asking because I want to get a frame for it and if its going to be the same size as the Vlad one, then I want to grab an extra one and have them match.

SS art print are all random sizes. They are never the same & what a shame it is.

Whenever I purchase a PFF, to help kill time till they are ready to ship (pfft - the first hour of the first day of waiting, anyway), I always find the most straight forward camera angle Sideshow gives in their product photos and then go to Photoshop and crop the image from the top of the head to the bottom of the base and then apply the same height in inches to the photoshop file as claimed for the product measurement. This gives me a pretty accurate assessment as to how big the figure and base are separately.
To my calculations, with the overall height being 23 inches, Jason is going to be close to 20 inches high with a 3 inch high base.
That would be most impressive.
Can anyone verify this?

Thanks guys. I guess it all depends on how big the box is in the end since it has to fit in the box. Too bad. Hopefully its of a similar size to the Vlad one.
