I really hope they make a stormtrooper first instead of a clonetrooper. I still have a much bigger spot in my heart for all of the original figures, even though right now my favorite SS figure is Grevious but thats just becasue I am still amazed by it.

If I had to pick my one that I want it would be R2-D2. That has always been my favorite person/driod. When I was a kid I had every single R2-D2 and is the only one I can that for. On a sidenote if I had enough time a few months ago I would have had some sort of R2-D2 autographed item. I ran into the guy (I have drawn a blank) in Vegas a few months ago.

And yes no damm spirts unless they are the exclusive add on.

Kenny Baker.

I couldn't tell you my favorite SS SW piece. Vader's classic, Obi's perfect, GG's F'ing awesome, and the Maul bust is unbelievable.

I'd like SS to make a Hayden Christiansen Jedi spirit, but not with "spirit paint apps" per se. Just make a smiling version of ROTS Anakin with traditional Jedi robes.

Posing Anakin next to Yoda and an Alec Guinness Obi-Wan would be pretty cool. Probably too scene specific and won't ever happen though.

I really hope not.

The only other Ani we should get should be AOTC. Though I wouldn't rule out a kid Ani either.

I hope they make a TPM Anakin. I think the collection would be incomplete without one.

I also think a spirit Anakin would be allright. But why not just put the clothes from ANH Hasbro/Kenner OB1 on ROTS Anakin's body? :horror

If they do decide to do this I want the originals. I'm sorry but I don't want figures based off of Lucas'es desire to play with movies.
I can't wait until next month so I can watch Star Wars on my DVD player and see the movies that totally captured me when I was a child.

Hope you don't have a widescreen television. :)

I'm glad that Lucas replaced the Sebastian Shaw ghost with Hayden Christiansen. Even as a kid it was hard to appreciate Shaw since for three movies we had this imposing suit and James Earl Jones' voice and then just some random and average looking old guy. No history to attach any emotional connection to.

After ROTS Hayden IS Anakin, and having him at the end of ROTJ gives the celebration that climactic poignancy that it never really had.

I second that. I think it is preposterous what Lucas is doing to the original trilogy and I will definitely not be purchasing the new DVDs.

While, I don't mind the Hayden switch, I definitely DO mind the F`ing with Boba Fett's voice in ESB.

Im confused, the new DVDs are going to be the Original versions on DVD. And as far as a Widescreen TV im not sure what that has do with it. The Originals were in widescreen format and only changed to to fit TV when put out on VHS so the Widescreen is what captured me since it was on the bigscreen.

Here's the deal...

There will be Widescreen versions of the DVD, but they will apparently not be Anamorphic. And that's what people are upset about. Here's why:

Anamorphically enchanced widescreen DVDs are actually produced on a 4:3 transfer. However, when shown in true 4:3 the image appears "squeezed". Playing these on a Widescreen TV (and having the DVD set accordingly) effectively "stretches" the image to the proper ratio and fills the entire screen (except for 2.35:1 "Scope" transfers, which still have some letterboxing even on Widescreen sets... because they are 1.78:1). And this process is done without ANY loss of image quality.

Conversely, a Non-Anamorphic Widescreen transfer is essentially just a pure (non-squeezed) 4:3 transfer... and the result would mean that the image would show up on Widescreen TV's with not only letterbox on top and bottom, but blank areas on the sides (because the image is not really Widescreen). So in order to view the DVD without that on a Widescreen TV you have to either "zoom" or digitally stretch the image on the TV, which loses a lot of image quality and is also not good for the longevity of rear-projection sets.

Irishjedi where did you hear that? That is new to me that it was not going to be true widescreen.

Here's my pure speculation...

What's the next most iconic versions of Han and Luke after the ANH one's that have appeared in PF and the 1/6 one's we've already had - as opposed to transitional costumes? There aren't any, but Han and Luke in Stormtrooper disguise would kind of fit the bill (very cool outfits, means Stormtroopers, ANH) which makes me think they'll be the next Han and Luke (next year!). As OT Obi-Wan has already appeared in PF I wonder if we'll see a 12" Jedi Spirit Obi-Wan next? That would be cool. Yoda is crying out to be done - although I'd prefer an OT one I'd also love to see one that bridged both trilogies, with accessories and outfits from each (with such a small figure there'll be a lot of space in the box, after all). Palpatine will come soon, and an Emperor's Royal Guard would go nicely with that. I reckon the next Leia after Boussh will be Bespin Leia as there's never been one in 12". Then next year (2007) as its the 30th anniversary of ANH I reckon they'll announce the 12" 'hero' figures for 2008 as being the iconic ANH versions of Han, Luke and Leia.

PT: As Boba Fett has just appeared in premium format I think Jango Fett will appear in the 12" line. A 12" AOTC Tusken Raider would keep everyone happy. A clonetrooper would make sense before a Stormtrooper.

What do you think?

Maybe a Stormtrooper with interchangable Han and Luke heads as exclusives. So everone have to buy three of them. :lol

So no Palaptine 12" for a little while...

Homer-J-Simpson Any idea when we can except to hear about another Sith or Hero of the Rebellion?

Sideshow_Brant Leia Boushh is actually from the Heroes of the Rebellion line... Sith - the next announcement is still a few figures away.

That's what I was talking about when I said no Sith for a few figures. I saw they posted that interview. It's got some good info in it, worth a read.

Well since we're not getting a Sith I hope for Lando or a Storm/Clone Trooper. I don't care how likely it is, it's just what I want!

I just watched about half of ESB late last night. Wow. To all who got to see the OT in theaters during their original releases go put the DVD for ESB in your player and start watching at the scene where Luke is carrying Yoda on his back in Dagobah through to the end of the movie and tell me that you don't want to see a SS Bespin Luke SOON.

I don't know if I'm going to be able to go through with canceling PF Dagobah Luke. The scene where Yoda raises the X-Wing from the swamp is one of the greatest in film history and what a fantastic memento to have in my house. Ditto for that darn 1:1 Yoda bust.

And if they make a 1/6 scale Tauntaun to go with Hoth Luke that'll probably trump Jabba as the centerpiece to my collection. Assuming I even *get* Jabba with PF Dagobah Luke and 1:1 Yoda staring me in the face.

I really hope we dont get another Tauntaun, Hasbro did them and it was one of their finest releases. The Han and Tauntaun TRU exclusive was considered an awesome piece and they also did Lukes eventually too. I think these were good enough and nicely detailed. Now what I wouldnt mind would be a Wampa, their Wampa look more like the Abonminal Snowman. I wouldnt mind seeing a Bantha in a few years but I would rather them stay away from a Dewback, Hasbros was great but they still set on the shelves. I know alot of people dont like Hasbro but the Tauntauns and Dewback werent that bad. Now a new Hoth Han and Luke would be awesome to put on them.
