Frontrunners for the next 1/6, PF announcements

I know alot of people dont like Hasbro but the Tauntauns and Dewback werent that bad.

If "not that bad" was good enough for me I probably wouldn't collect Sideshow. I'd like to see a 1/6 scale Phil Tippet quality Tauntaun with SS Hoth Luke to sit on it. Arguably the most iconic image from ESB (next to that one shot you always see of Vader reaching his hand out to Luke.)

The only thing is I think Sideshow would charge $300 to $400 bucks for one, if they do make I hope it isnt for a long time.

I totally agree with you we need a Bespin Luke and it can also double as a Dabobah Luke if they include the sleevless shirts

Sorry Khev, the AT-AT's attacking are easily the most iconic image from ESB (besides Vader reaching). It just shows the Empire's use of force (no pun intended) to get what they want.

If you want Luke on a Tauntaun, get the GG piece. You can find one of those for cheap. SS doesn't need to turn into Hasbro with 485 varients of each character. One or two more Lukes at the most.

I've considered the GG piece but since I don't own any other GG products its easier for me to wait and see if SS produces one. The smaller size of the GG tauntaun definitely makes it more manageable though (and I like that it comes with alternate stop-motion Luke head.)

I know what AT-AT scene you're talking about, but I don't think its "easily" the most iconic. Definitely in the top three with Vader and Luke on the tauntaun though. As recognizable as the Vader/AT-AT pics are its hard to beat an image that made the original movie poster.

And the six main Luke outfits hardly qualify as 485. SS would be pulling a "Hasbro" if they made half a dozen versions of just Jedi Luke, there's nothing wrong with releasing the greatest hero of the saga in all of his classic attire. Having one Kit Fisto and no Hoth or X-Wing Luke would just be silly.

I was wondering would anyone be too upset if Sideshow did say ANH luke like Hasbro did a few years ago for the 100th figure. Have Luke dressed in the Tatooine Grear and then include his X-Wing gear and Ceremonial outfit. They could package alot of cool accessories with him like the Poncho, Hat, Blaster Rifle from Tatooine, Stormtrooper Blaster, Blaster Pistol, T-16 model, Blast Shield Helmet, Training Remote, Lightsaber, etc, just make it the definitive Star Wars ANH Luke release.
Then if that one went well they could make an ESB set the same way. I think Sideshow could make this look really sweet for about $100 - $120.

One one hand I wouldn't be opposed to a "definitive" ANH Luke, but I'd still want to get at least two (to display both Tatooine and X-Wing) and paying $100+ for each wouldn't be very appealing.

I know how you fell but alot of people dont want 10 Lukes I dont care I just want every major character in all their clothing except Padme, It would take 5 years of nothing but Padme to get all of hers.

Again, we're not even talking about a number as big as 10. Seven at the most, but I'd be fine with six (Tatooine, X-Wing, Hoth, Bespin, Endor, Jedi). I could live without the Stormtrooper disguise and Endor is even questionable.

But let's stick with seven for the sake of discussion. Everyone might not want all seven, but EACH outfit of the seven will have MANY more fans than any prequel Jedi or cantina denizen with no lines. No one is forcing anyone to be a completist and SS would be crazy not to allow for a good number of multiples of the main characters, as long as they're totally different outfits (though even saying that I wouldn't mind another ROTS Anakin with messed up hair and better paint apps.)

That's a tough question. I think him standing on the lava droid as he approached Obi-Wan from the lava waterfall with his saber blade down would be quite cool and menacing.

It depends on are we talking about good anakin or are we talking abou after he becomes Vader?

Good Anakin I don't have anything specific. Vader I'd take him walking into the JT or a pose from him fighting Obi-Wan.

Good question Loki. If it was Vader I would have to say the view of him over looking the Lava fields of Mustafar with the tear falling down his face. For me that was a critical part of the movie and one of my favorite scenes. If we are talking regular Anakin, Then some pose with a light saber. Maybe cutting down a battle droid. However if there are plans for a dooku PF then I would take a pose of Anakin taken a huge offensive swing.

I'd like a Dark Empire Luke as well. I think the Stormtrooper is best left as a kit bash or con exclusive type thing. After all - all it is is ANH Luke with the Stormtrooper equipment.

First release a regular Stormtrooper with a mouse droid as th exclusive.
Then I say make a 2 pack with Luke and Han. I say around $100 for them. Then people could buy more sets and army build stormies because of the interchangable heads and you could also have a bunch of extra han and luke heads to do customs with. Win Win for everyone.
