iron man mark II will be coming for sure, but i think we'll have to wait for awhile for him since i don't think they'll PO him until they've sold as many as possible markIII versions, that way they aren't hurting the sales of one product to sell another.
also the es will most likely be descided by how many returned/in stock markIII's that they have on hand.

if they've got 300 returned subpar markIII's then we'll most likely see an es of around 250 or so of the markII's

What is even more strange is that the shipping boxes were all numbered. Some people received boxes in the high 500s while some in the low 100s...

That's a question I've trying to figure out as well.

I don't really understand the reasoning behind not numbering the bases. For a piece with this much potential, you'd think it would be a given, but apparently not. I'm not worried much about recasts per se' (because of the light up feature, etc.), but I would want a piece of this caliber numbered just simply based on personal preference. I think it helps add a little bit of individuality to each one in the run.

In reality anyone who thought this would have a ton of defects and imperfections was nuts. Every single Iron Man release that SSC has done from the first Comiquette to this bust and everything in between has always had a ton of reports of paint scuffing and irregulars. The Iron Spidey will be the same, the Classic Iron Man will repeat it, its seems just to be the nature of the Sideshow pieces.

Would or would not?

How long did it take Sideshow to announce the Modern Thing PF?

When the Mark 02 goes up even at a small ES for example like 250 it'll be around for a while, most likely it'll be an "In-Stock" item and on top of that it'll be on the heels of the Mark 03 1:1 and all the other stuff shipping between now and then. It'll be a hard pressed collectors especially if they are buying multiple other lines. I actually thinking we might see it around SDCC....

I'm excited to see what Sideshow has in store for us at SDCC this year.

I can't wait to find one for $450 plus the live discount would be perfect. :rock

That one was being rumored a couple of weeks after it was initially shipping and was marketed as an International Exclusive. I don't see it running the same way here, a Mark 02 would most likely be a widespread release, probably a domestic exclusive. What I could see happening and it'd be a smart move on SSC's part if they could get it done correctly is to offer up the damaged and scuffed Mark 03s as the BD version from the film

The chest area was completely battered:

HT does it all the time, of course not at this pricepoint, and those versions are usually well received.

I'm not sure what money tree they expect us to be shaking....Mk II 1:1...now you're speculating a battle-damaged version? And at the $700 USD price point that is a whole lotta cash :(

I'm sure the modifications wouldn't cost SS much money at all, since the busts have already been made. And any new variant produced on this piece (even at its current retail value) will move plenty of pieces in my opinion. The price on this particular bust is at a level that I think many who buy are financially comfortable in a situation to do so.

Well its all speculation at this point and the BD version is just a suggestion not a thought of what would be a viable option. If SSC is smart and did all three Mark 03, Mark 02 and BD Mark 03 then they'd space them at least six months apart...

I don't think we need any more Marks at this scale, but it probably will happen.

Man, my bust rocks.. but Mike, I gotta say I don't like how the cheapened out on the base. Should have been resin through and through... or atleast...be a metal.

We NEED the Mark 02, the Mark 03 would probably be a simplistic custom job really once the price goes down a bit....in this economy I don't think we'll have too much of a jump on this one for a while.

I'm not thrilled about the base but it does look good, I would have rathered though that they continue the torso and have the Arc Reactor piece included on it to light up.

Yeah the arc reactor would have really set this piece over the top in my opnion as well... still an awesome piece .. and i would be in for a mark II as well :D

A light-up arc reactor would have been awesome, but I don't mind the base as it is. I think that (light-up arc reactor) on a Mark 02 would really make that piece move.

That would be cool but I guarantee you that it'll be the exact same as the Mark 03 just with the rivets and different color scheme.
