I thought it was funny how SS was offering 5 IM 1:1 busts with "paint flaws"....... :lol

But still selling them for $625?!?!?! That's STILL WAY too much IMO. I would say $400ish...

I believe it said "minor" paint flaws - most likely flaws that 80% of the buyers wouldn't even notice (except for threads like this).

I completely understand the whole "its 700 it should be flawless" argument. Makes complete sense. Then again I am part of the group that if I want something and it comes damaged I'll keep sending it back until I get a good one or if SSC says they won't, refund and buy one on eBay that I've seen is good. The Iron Man 1:1 is one of my favorite pieces and down the line will be a regretable pass for some especially since there are a good amount that will probably end up destroyed due to exchanges.

I think "minor paint flaws" still warrants around a $500 pricepoint because the most likely scenario is that its a return from someone who noticed it in the first place. :dunno

My question is, why can't SS just repair the "minor" paint flaw IM busts to just to prevent any troubles???

Wouldnt be profitable for them...they prefer to shove it to their customers.

I have a question to all those who have the Iron Man bust, is it worth the money?
I'm thinking of picking one up and I want your opinion.:D
:chew

I had the bust briefly but decided to try to get a replacement thru my LCS. Paint flaws aside, it is really a great looking piece. However, it is a steep price at $700 USD, especially considering that many other 1:1 busts are a lot less in retail price. If you can get one at a discount on the secondary market, knowing that there are likely going to be some minor flaws, then you'll likely be happy with it.

Had to cancel mine... $700 is a bit steep for me, considering that I'm not that big of an IM fan. My SIM will do be plenty, but I've got to say that without the paint flaws, this is one outstanding piece.

Congrats to everyone that got theirs without any problems:D

And thanks for starting a fresh thread Dave.. there was some pretty intense stuff on the previous one and I just couldn't contribute in that atmosphere

Sorry, but anyone who is truly satisfied with their bust either got one out of 5 that Sideshow actually had QC check and passed or you have extremely low standards for your collectibles.

My replacement is worse than my first one....

No QC sticker, looked like it spent a few days sitting next to a highly traveled dirt road, and nearly all of the surfaces around the neck and under the shoulder armor was rough/unpainted.

At this point I'm so disgusted that I don't plan on keeping one until they start showing up for $350 on ebay or they're discounted to $400 during Spooktacular... it will happen. I'll let Sideshow keep sending replacements. If they want to play games with quality control, I'll play right along :D

No doubt...$625 for damaged goods is still a rip-off...$400-$500 is a maybe...but it should be half off...

I got one of the five. :D I thoroughly checked mine because of all the comments here and elsewhere...if it had been really damaged though I would have returned it and taken my chances on eBay.

Oh! So you picked one up?? So do tell!!!! Got pics?? You can actually even pick up the IM bust at a retailer for $630, so getting a DAMAGED one wouldn't make sense IMO. But how bad was the damage? :angelsmil
