What the, you even liked my post where I said that showing her taking the wives is a Fury Road spoiler. :tap

By my count, 5 time skips.

Initial one with taking if Furiosa,

Another jump where Dementus and Joe meet.

Another to Taylor Joys intro.

Another to her and her relationship with Jack

Then the final one to the beginning of FR.

Pretty much in line with the chapters.

It's treacherous to get back into talk of timelines, but if we can figure out how long between Furiosa returning to the Citadel and the events of FR, we'll be a long way towards figuring out the chronology. Given Furiosa starts 45 years after the collapse and covers 15+ years itself.

How long does the seed of one's loins take to sprout a fully grown tree?

(Narrator: Sadly, the members of Collector Freaks were the only ones still talking about Furiosa a week after it opened :crying )
That's okay. Discussion on good to great films never seems to last very long. It's the Zack Snyder/BOBF stuff that gets all the traction. 😁

Well Charlize was 39 when FR came out, which is 10 years older than Anya is now. But I kinda have a hard time believing that Furiosa waited 10 years before deciding to enact her plan and head back home. But frankly even 5 years seems like too long since she probably had the means to leave only a year after the first movie, so what was she waiting around all that time for?

My original impression from FR was that Furiosa's decision to leave was a fairly recent thing, and that she finally just had enough of Immortan Joe's antics and treatment of the brides. But the prequel makes it clear that she was working against Joe from the very beginning, which makes you wonder why the long wait.

why the long wait.

The only explanation is she was tending to her shrub!

Also, "45 years after the collapse" suggests Max too was born after the collapse, which means MM1 was post-collapse. There was some evidence of social decay but they still had hospitals, ambulances etc.

I guess you have to pick and choose which elements of the OT you still acknowledge.

Nevermind, this'll be on streaming soon and it'll finally be watched by more than a dozen or so people.

OMG i’m STILL watching the 2 Furiosa trailers on a loop it just plays in the background I am so addicted I just can’t get enough of them lol

Looking like Garfield is going to knock it down to second place this weekend - and both expected to have 50% drop off's.

Scary...

I take things for face value. I went yesterday and enjoyed the movie quite a bit. It was nice to have some decent entertainment for a change. Most of the trailers were garbage but in a world of bad movies this one was fun and entertaining.
Sure, there’s always things to gripe about in just about every movie made when comparing it with other movies but overall it was enjoyable. Furiosa’s mom was a badass. Great editing with excellent timing in several scenes especially gunshots. The shootouts were great!
In my opinion I believe they made Chris look like an ***** so we wouldn’t side with the bad guy. Had he looked like himself, handsome and debonair people would have cheered him on rather than hate the guy. My initial impression was that they could have used a different actor for the part but he played a good role regardless.
My only real gripe was what the hell was he doing and where was he going driving in the middle of the wasteland with only a few seconds around him!?! That part was a tad silly to me when he rode around with massive forces in pretty much every other scene he was in. I absolutely loved his approach to the citadel for the first time when they picked out a war boy standing high on one of the bridges. Excellent scene!!!
There’s lots to be enjoyed about the movie and a couple of roll your eyes scenes but I was glad I went. I enjoyed getting lost in a world of desert wasteland in a world of bad films. This one was worth the effort to go see. 😎👍🏼
