Did Gambit ever wear a black trench and have the purple chest plate?

his original color was pink. Since Marvel has had many different colorist, some have made it more purple then pink. Example:

Yeah, I knew that. But I don't ever remember him wearing a black trench? But with different artists theres so many suit variants/chnages, I wasn't too sure if I missed that color change being legit.

Nothing wrong with outfits evolving or different variants. To name a few Elektra, Mystique, Spidey, IM, Daredevil all had their different colored suit variants in stats recently. Original wolvie yellow but brown/x.factor suit still appear in statues. Original cap did not have round shield, original hulk was grey with shorts (even wielded weapons at some points), original IM was grey, Mystique has white cloth and black leather outfits, spidey has a black suit. If you were wearing the same exact shirt for 30 years you would be a little bored too.

Even his Marvel universe page has 3 different outfits. So the question is to be true to the character at is which point? I've seen variants for many characters so far, and it's nice Marvel doesn't pigeonhole into one outfit letting characters evolve over time and have new costumes and that's the aim of making variants (see ultimates.)

Yeah I'm thinking of going that route but I hate having 2 of the same char too, so still considering. I may just switch out his coat first for a black leather and think about customing the chest more.

I'm not a fan of double dipping either.

Unless the second one happens to be at an insanely great price.
