I smell a take over thread :D

But Unky Dave get mad:monkey2

You guys! :lol

But seriously. I have been watching this thread, with it's "debates" and "discussions" and openly expressed views, especially about the price, and the apparent low sales due to, and all that stuff, and after a while, all I am left with, is the wonderful vision of the day that new cardboard box arrives at my house, with SST all printed on it, where I cut that now too familiar taped seal, remove that styrofoam holder-thing, and pull out my clear wrapped box with Gandalf inside. Then getting to Gandalf and that cool "new toy" smell, I love so. And, where I try, as always, not to rush and panic to get him out and put him together, not breaking parts as I remove them from the little taped over recesses, and then finally put this assembled bad boy out in my shelf, posed ready to wipe Balrogs from the entire area!
What a wonderful day that will be for me! :rock

So, debate on! I am too busy just being glad that they FINALLY made him at all, and that I will have him at long last! :D

I will admit, a $70 or less pricetag would have been better on my already overstrained 2008 budget wallet, but so be it. He is mine!

You guys! :lol

Well said:clap

I feel the exact same way.

Les and the Zen of Action Figure Collection :lol

Completely agree with you, who wouldn't want these to be more affordable, but for what we are getting I'm satisfied.

I'll second that. :duff

well that would be fine if it actually were a discussion. And a few people were doing just that, discussing... but most of it was sideshow bashing and whining. And really, what does that achieve?

I agree with you Darren. How many times and ways can one person say over and over "I don't like the price... greedy Sideshow". I went through this last time with the "Hobbits are half the size they should be half the price" "discussion"

...round and round again.

Would we all want these to be cheaper? Sure. Do we all want high quality? Sure. I think it's unrealistic and wishful thinking to expect these to be both cheap and high quality. When it comes to collectible, luxury items like this I want quality over cheapness. Hasbro, Toybiz, and Zazzle all make cheaper versions of LOTR, SW, Indiana Jones and PotC characters, but I want Sideshow to complete with the best in the industry not the worst. I want them to keep moving their products forward, which I think they are doing, to be at the top of the list, to keep pushing the envelope in terms of quality and realism, not remain stagnant or back slide. Ultimately, in addition to other factors like the steady increase of production costs over seas, this means the price will go up not down.

Also, none of the LOTR figures sold out right away. Gandalf not selling out immediately is not a sign of the line dying.

Man, is the cheap bastard *****fest still going on???? You guys are worse that women. Hell you must be chicks!

i pay $200 for marvel LSB .... get over the fact that these 12" figs are near $100

I also don't like the high price point, but still got him. What I don't understand is those who are balking at this price who don't have a problem shelling out the money for the expensive Aliens figures. They are basically roto-cast, with no intricate clothes to stitch. Even the sculpt of the body should be a lot easier than having to sculpt a human characters head sculpt. JMO though.

Just to add the hat looks amazing! Its not fabric but looks just like felt. Bravo, amazing work!:chew..........back to Obi-wan thread........................
