Their mom's credit card musta been maxed out at $87. THAT is the real reason!!

Exactly.

For how freakin long have we been through the hundreds and hundreds of posts of:

"Come on SS, where is our new 12" figure?"

"What figure will be next?"

"Who do you want?"

You finally get a figure, a freakin awesome figure.
They raise the price.

And you do nothing but bich and moan and cry and bich and moan and cry some more.

Here you go, you should use this for your posts:
"Give me a figure, one that I want, when I want, but you better damn well make the price so freakin cheap so that I can buy freakin two of the damn things and flip the sons 'o' bizatches on the freakin bay."

Cap keep being you. The way I posts rubs some the wrong way too but I do what I feel is best. You do the same as your posts are fun to read.

I got a feeling this will be the last of the LOTR figures. They make a kick ass figure and everyone still *****es. They won't put up with it with the way these are selling. @ least with SW those sell fast.

Nice to wait until I leave.

Stop moanin about the moanin about the moanin.
What's up your freckle? You must be constipated to think I was waiting for you to leave. I post em as I see em. If you can't reason enough to know when a joke is a joke keep on moaning. :lol Don't worry, be happy.

Why is everyone so concerned about Gandalf? he is the number one seller for Sideshow right now (granted, he didn't sell out the way that SW does - but thats how most lines are).

Fact is SW and Indy are the cash cows that let Sideshow do the lines they wanna do (the Dead, Shaun of the Dead, LOTR, etc...).

Well Josh, Sideshow had to see this coming at this price point. Nobody cares about the Indy pricing since if they don't make another Indy figure, nobody will care. I don't see anybody paying 90 bucks for a Marion or Toht. Only Indy will get these prices without the trouble. I love the Gandalf, but not at these prices. I will get him, but I will wait for a deal. Which isn't exactly what Sideshow wants. At the current price schedule, Sideshow will have to be more selective at what figure they put out. I guess that is everybody's point. Sideshow will turn out less figures and be more selective. Simply as that. I doubt anybody will debate that comment. The proof is in the pudding as some will say.

I think, and have always thought, we'll see Merry, Pippin, Gimli and perhaps Saruman and that's about it. A Ringwraith would also be nice as those would probably sell well, but past that I don't have much hope. This line was never going to be as prolific as the Toybiz LotR or 12" Star Wars line.

I'm sure they expected a little resistance @ 90 but not the level we've seen here. I don't think some are looking at Gandalf fairly but that's just me. I think they read buck and that automatically makes it not worth it. I've got mine on order and would have gladly paid the money for GTG.

I don't know about that, after all, this is a message board and people can say what they like. I just don't get what I did wrong--I'm sorry about whatever it was. :(

Cap...you are a breath of fresh air. I've never had to wade thru your posts to get past ego trips, or testosterone-fueled braggadocio, or locker-room humor, or negativity for the sake of contrariness, or women/gay degrading, or one-upsmanship wittiness (although I'm not saying that anyone on these boards have indulged in expressing those types of posts because we're all adults). You keep being the way you are and don't let the cynicism seep through to you. Although I have NO delusions in thinking my opinions matter much, I for one, totally appreciate your outlook.

Personally, I don't really care about the buck body on Gandalf. He is completely covered and he is an old wizard. They could put him on a Hasbro body and he still will be great. It isn't like he is an action character. But if you add in him riding Shadowfax, even the buck body is fine. To me that isn't the kicker. I just expected something in the price range of max 80 to min 60. I will get him at amazingtoyz or some other toyshop to get him at the price range I want. I am really just worried about the trend rather than the individual price of the figure.

Wow! I agree with everything you just said. I myself am not worried about the Buck body with this figure. I don't understand why it costs what it does. I get the OBI with armor. Some think it will cost the same. I know damn well it will be over that and still worth every penny. This one still and will escape me though.

I don't know that that is a fact Pix. I was under the impression that each line has to look after itself. One or two dud figs in a row and the line is no longer profitable and dies.

:lol I didn't mean any harm. I really think Caps a nice guy and I really am sorry, if I offended him.

Anyways, back to Gandalf......anybody else think he'll be on the new Prometheus body?:monkey3:D

The negativity one encounters on the board does have a tendency to get carried away from time to time... so the ever-positive posts by people like Cap help keep things somewhat balanced. There's been more than a little negativity goin' on the past few days, so I figure Cap's here to help keep **** on an even keel. That's just my lousy two cents, for what it's worth.

Now, back to Gandalf, I do have a feeling he could end up with the new body, as he's still pending approval, right? Maybe he won't, but isn't there still an outside chance they'll decide to give the poor old guy a body worthy of his collectible status? After all the pleading and anticipation for Gandalf people have expressed over the past couple of years, it's pretty depressing to find so many people unhappy and complaining about him, now that he's finally here. This may sound a little too simplistic, but the pleasure of having a kickass figure Gandalf the Grey in hand will last long after the pain of having to cough up the extra $30 it costs to get him. I mean, just take $30 to a supermarket and see how much you get for it... this is Gandalf the Grey!!! There can be no Fellowship without him!!!!! :monkey4

I would expect the Obi Wan Clone armour to be in the 100-120 range. With everything considered, that isn't such a bad deal. That is a great figure. Heck, even 150 is high but not that outragous. But the Gandalf, his outfit is really not a complication as some of the other as far as mixed media. I agree with you, I don't get the price at all.

I understand you. But, with nothing new added to him? Why the price increase?

People can feel however they like about the fact that the price tag is $90, but looking at Sideshow as a producer of 1/6 figures and current prices of their products, even on the Buck, Gandalf's price is fitting with where they're presently at. ANH Luke is $70, with basic costume and accessories, where Gandalf has more intricate costuming and accessories. Compared to Luke, Gandalf costing more is balanced. Again, people can feel however they like about the matter, but within Sideshow's offering of 1/6 figures in the last few months, he seems easily more involving than one of their $70 figures.
