Re: Gandalf The Gray

LMAO-i have a wife that luvs LOTR ,SW and Batman,Xmen etc etc-so the stuff i get for her,we both play with ;0 ;) ;)

Re: Gandalf The Gray

The slow sales, slow releases and the complete absence at SDCC. Plus various "I heard from someone who heard from someone inside SS that the line is dead" rumours.

That's unfortunate. To think of all the figure's that could have been. I hope they continue with the Premium Format Line.

Wonder why no one is buying, maybe if they had started out with stronger releases, I really can't figure out why Faramir and Boromir were produced before Gandalf, Saruman, Ringwraith, Gimli, etc. I would have loved to see them release those guys. Well, I guess I'll see Gandalf released anyway.

Re: Gandalf The Gray

This has to to be the fastest a LOTR figure has been produced. Not a single delay.:horror

Re: Gandalf The Gray

It is unfortunate this line seems dead. I like my SS LOTR figs, but I think all the releases save for Boromir (and hopefully Gandalf) could have been WAY, WAY better, especially given the rise in quality for Sideshow and their competition.

Re: Gandalf The Gray

The optimist in me says maybe we will get a preview or a PPO before Gandalf ships or just after.

I don't think so. Just don't have a good feeling about seeing anything for the rest of 08 at least.

Sadly I think you are right... never a good sign when a figure is released w/no future figures in the queue.

Re: Gandalf The Gray

The complete absence of product at SDCC and the silence from SS about this line are the big indicators for me. Such a shame. Collectors got screwed with an incomplete fellowship by SS/Weta and now it looks like SS has done it again.

Re: Gandalf The Gray

There has been a lot of talk about SSC doing a Ringwrath in some format, with Spooktacular coming our best bet is for something to be offered there....if not then I think we have gotten a clear sign that the nail is in the coffin....

After Faramir was released, there was nothing in the queue until the Hobbits showed up at SDCC 2007.

I still have high-hopes that with the new bodies and tailoring R&D that went into making Frodo and Sam, we'll still see Merry and Pippin. Then all we'd need is Gimli to complete the Fellowship! :gimli = :rock

Still hoping to see Saruman, Ringwraith, Orcs, Uruk-Hai...man, we need some baddies...

Besides, with THE HOBBIT in development, I think it's OK for SS to 'slow' the LOTR line a bit to leading up to the release of THE HOBBIT. With the resurgence then, I'd expect to see more figures. Plus, it feels like SS is going heavy on the LOTR PF and LSB lines right now...maybe it will switch back to 1/6 soon.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed for an announcement during Spooktacular...

Very sensible without a hint of pessimism or chicken little syndrome. I salute you! :clap

This line should move slower? No thank ye. Hope you're right about an announcement, but if this line were still alive, wouldn't they have at least showed GtG at SDCC?
