Re: Gandalf The Gray

Wonder why no one is buying, maybe if they had started out with stronger releases, I really can't figure out why Faramir and Boromir were produced before Gandalf, Saruman, Ringwraith, Gimli, etc. I would have loved to see them release those guys. Well, I guess I'll see Gandalf released anyway.

The price was an issue for some but quality was a major after Aragorn turned out like crap.

I collect 12" Star Wars, and was working my toward LOTR. I guess if the line is on it's last leg, I should try and catch up pretty quick then. I didn't realize however there were quality issues with them. What are some of the problems?

I don't collect the line (used to, sold them off). But, a couple of the problems are:

Aragorn looks nothing like Viggo Mortensen.

Faramir has the worst paint apps I've seen on a 12" figure.

That's surprising. Everything I've seen (which I can admit, is not much) from Sideshow so far has been quality.

Hhmm.

Aragorn: coat, beard paintjob, deformed sculpt.

Legolas: big chin (not that bad in person), material and cut of jerkin.

Boromir: nothing really.

Faramir: The worst paintjob in the whole line. Really unacceptable.

Hobbits: Horrible quality on the bodies.

Those are the main problems.

Re: Gandalf The Gray

eh.......I like mine! I want more!

Better than toy biz anyday!

Re: Gandalf The Gray

The plastic is cheap and brittle. The splits in the legs. The very loose joints. The weak rubber knee joints, easily warped.

Re: Gandalf The Gray

I just really hope they finish the fellowship. I would love to have atleast one complete line. GG has stopped all of the animated pirates and LOTR. SS has stopped the James Bond PFs.

The only collection that I have complete are the Star Wars Potato heads from hasbro and from disneyland. :(

I want a complete fellowship set.

I KNOW! Al I've wanted is a complete Fellowship, SW ANH and Watchmen sets. 3 Away in both LotR and SW. :monkey2 Hopefully HT will come through with Watchmen.

Re: Gandalf The Gray

I think it will come through, could be wrong, but so far that hasn't been an issue for 1/6 LOTR figures... although I know with Borimir it took a really long time to get a conversion. He had already been in hand for like a month before people seemed to get waitlist conversions.

Re: Gandalf The Gray

Oh, I'm a lame ass, you're right.

I went on to see if there were any new pics and didn't notice the waitlist thing.

I liked the old SS site -- it was much clearer when something was sold out. I miss that big red hand!

I also went to the reg Gandalf and it still has no edition size. 1250 Ex, any guesses for the reg? 1250 also? 1000?

Which was the figure that had a lower reg ES than the ex?
