and everyone wonders why they might not do the entire fellowship..

I will be keeping mine...

Its money right now that will keep me from getting mine. Plus I'm more strongly leaning towards the new statue line.

I'm just merely stating there's a ton of people in the lotr thread that have _____ed and moaned about them not completing the fellowship in 1/6th and now possibly 1/4 and its not too hard to see why. I fully understand things being tight especially for those that traveled to comic con and those that have other stuff coming, but if people continue to cancel what msg does that send to SS?

To each their own I just hope not to many other people cancel

Sideshow outlined a pretty good and very manageable flexpay plan for me, so I think I'll keep my order:

Sep 20 2010 $100.00
Oct 20 2010 $100.00
Nov 20 2010 $99.99

By the time November rolls around I should have a plan finalized on where/how to display him. So it's all good in the hood.

Whilst i'll have him displayed mostly with his iconic hat i also ike the hatless sculpt so the Ex it is.....plus even with shipping its generally still more expensive to buy down here so no point getting the Reg.

I'll only grab any further PF's if they knock my socks off as they just take up too much space as well as the price we have to pay down here.

I think the message it should send to SS is stop making so much overall and so much competing with themselves.
Lets face it, two GtG statues, both up for pre-order at the same time, if they didn't expect to get a number of cancels, then how foolish can you get?

I got my 23 days notice for the EX a couple of days ago. Still on the fence about this one. When I ordered this, I didn't know about or hadn't considered the maquette line. There's only so much space in my apartment; a PF takes up a lot of room. Therefore I might switch to the maquettes AND hopefully get a complete Fellowship.

Spot on there, they may have sold a lot more if they had spaced them out and starved us a bit..............mind you, they have done that with other characters, "Saruman has left the building, I repeat, Saruman has left the building!!!"

Totally agree with this observation. No doubt there was a lot of enthusiasm when this PF was announced. Not sure why Sideshow thought it was a good idea to offer two versions of GTG for pre-order at the same time, especially when the LOTR market is flooded with plenty of Gandalf choices already.

They ship at different times guys. They really don't effecy each other all that much. One ships now the other Q1 of next year thats anyplace from Jan-Mar. So like I said that really isn't an issue I dont think.

The reason I gave mine the axe is that I have other things on order coming in right now that I want more right now. Do I want the GTG PF? Damn right I do. I gave up the PF right now but I know I can go back and get it later.

I really want this but had to cancel due to timing. I paid for three PF's in full since comic con and Im flex paying two others already. Vader Bust is expensive. Once the dust settles ill put him on flex if he's still available. If hes sold out thats a good thing for the line.

Not sure that makes any difference, I think if either the PF or Maquette wasn't a Gandalf and some other character then not as many people would cancel, plus again don't see the point in making characters that we already have seen ad nauseum (Aragorn, Gandy) Give us a Saruman or Boromir PF!!

Why doesn't it? If one ships now and several months they don't hurt each other in cost wise. No, it's more timing and if anything and I think some prefer the maquette line cause of statues/cost. I'm glad they made gtg it looks great. People want that character a lot.

You're right, it's not an issue. The fact is these two statues are from completely different lines and will be shipping at least six month's apart. Even if it was a legitimate concern, it would only be so to those of us who are directly affected, namely those of us with both on pre-order. Why anyone else would care is beyond me.

Interesting to note all the cancels on the Gandalf PF. Too much too soon me thinks.

Having two Gandalf's up for order, even across lines and product type do affect each other. Why... because in this case it creates confusion in the mind of many consumers. Consumers don't know what SS have planned for these lines. Granted if all a buyer wants is a Gandalf representation then fine, the choice is easy... it becomes one or the other.

But analyse the responses on here and elsewhere, many want a Fellowship representation, be it character only or character + costume. Some have already started down the PF line and don't know if a Fellowship representation will ever come to fruition... no-one knows if the maquette line will either (I know SS have intimated they will complete the Fellowship through this line, but I take such comments with a bag of salt). Hence much insecurity in regards to which horse the collector should be on to get a Fellowship representation. Of course going by past experience, we'll never get a Fellowship out of SS
