A Gimli PF will be freaking great.

Hopefully in the near future I'll get a bit more money saved up and I'll be able to go back and get this.

I can't WAIT for a Gimli PF, he'll be amazing, and will look perfect with Aragorn and Legolas. The three hunters! :yess:

I still haven't convinced myself to cancel this. I know I don't have the space or funds to collect both lines, but I can't choose between them. It does sound like the maquette line will be the one that is more complete, but I love the PFs so much...

I know Maquettes are not what I want to be into. PF is all I need... but damn SSC for hitting us with so many pieces at once.

Yeah, something to do with cost savings by shipping 4 or 5 products back from the factory in China at the same time. Problem is, we all always have at least 3 of those items on pre-order and since we can't afford $800 or more at once, we end up canceling at least 2 of them. :dunno

It's just so iconic, and if you're going to have just ONE LOTR PF in the collection, Gandy is the clear winner to me.

:lecture

And to me! This'll be my first PF purchase and possibly my only one, but it'll look great on its own, a real stand-out item.

This will be my first PF as well. I did the flex on the PPO so I've only got one more flex payment to go and then its all mine.Needless to say I'm very excited for this piece.

I think if you cancel you will inevitably pick one up later. I don't own any of the lotr PFs or plan on collecting the maquettes (unless they do somehow complete the Traveling Gear 9) but this one is too iconic and impressive a piece to pass up. Obi and Dumbley are cool but this is THE wizard.

The PF's are more like pick up the ones you want, but it seems that the statues are going to be easier to get a full line of characters.

If they plan to do a full Fellowship in PF form, it'll be a long time. We know they're doing the Gollum PF, and probably a Ringwraith on horse PF (awesome). So it'll be a while.

I'm of the same opinion about the PFs. There's definitely something to be said about the commanding presence of a room filled with 1/4 scale figures, but then space becomes a major concern for me. Hence, the appeal of the new maquette line. I do plan to create some space for the Gollum PF. I really like the concept of that one.

Gandalf as a character is so iconic, and I think Sideshow really nailed that look for this Premium Format figure though, and he can either be the centerpiece of a collection or stand alone nicely. The maquette looks nice too, but for me the Premium Format really nails the Wandering Pilgrim aspect.

I just started a poll in the Ask Sideshow forum about making a request for the complete fellowship in the Premium Format line. If you have time, please check it out!

The GTG piece is a must. I kick myself for having to cancel and why I WILL go back and get it. The PF line and the maquette line can work great together allowing fans to get whatever method of collectible they prefer. There is no loser in this.

There is no loser in this.

Apart from the LSB line and possibly the diorama line!

I'm hoping it's not the end of the dioramas, but we haven't heard anything about a new piece for a while. If there's nothing hinted at before the end of the year, i'll consider the line dropped :(

I'm more speaking to those two lines. Yes, anytime a line from any license is given the axe the fans lose as do the business for a chance to make money.

argh - still deciding whether to keep the Gandalf Exclusive PF or not.

wondering if it will gain value in the near future.

Don't keep it hoping it will go up in value, keep it because you want it.

I haven't seen any of the LOTR PF's going for more than cost on the 'Bay lately, except maybe Lurtz. Saw a couple Legolas PF's go for around $200. I got my Aragorn for $200. True, GTG is iconic and the 2 heads are a plus, but I really don't see this one going up much...not in the foreseeable future anyways.
