:wink1:

Congrats again on a sweet pick up :hi5:

****** that looks awesome.

Thanks CM :hi5:. These two are really special to me. Not only has Clockwork been one of my all time favorite flicks, Alex was my first 1/6 fig. I bought a bunch in the time that I was waiting for Lucy to show up from Rainman so she was like my 7th/8th piece to arrive. But both of these were what sparked my infatuation with customs.

In Fall 2011 I stumbled on both the CRM & the other bootleg Alex in a local vintage store (nothing to do with collectibles) loose in a display case. The guy was asking $250 for one and $300 for the other. Thankfully I didn't ignorantly jump on either one and decided to do research first. Researching led me to an eBay listing for Rainman's and I was a little taken back when I saw the price, but even thru my noob eyes it was clear to see that Rainman's was light years ahead of those two. Thank God no one went for the Buy It Now which gave me a solid week to research Rainman and why the hell his stuff is so expensive :lol. I found Mag's reviews, and a lot of info both on this site and other places online. The BIN was relisted as a 7 day auction which gave me another solid week to feverishly research more, get addicted to this forum:lol, and win the auction in the end

probably my single biggest regret in 1/6 was skipping on Lucy..

Where the hell are they all hiding?!?!?

Congrats on your acquisition Stiff! :clap

Always love taking pics of Alex. Such a pleasurable droog he is. And dont get me started on Ol' Luce fugggggeeeeddddaaaaaboutit! Actually there are actually less than 20 ladies out there!. A couple were broke beyond repair during shipping from what I heard. She is the true Rainman grail ahead of Mr.Loompa and the rest me thinks!

Glad this thread has been bumped. Always entertaining! You guys even made me go back and watch my reviews! :lol

For those that may have missed em. :duff

Yea. I'm hoping one day when I'm an old man to stumble upon someone selling there fathers Alex and Lucy for like $5 at an estate sale. In which case I will be buried with both so nobody can enjoy them after my passing.

Congrats to you gents who do indeed have both. One of my all time favorite books/movies. Do hope to have Alex before my morbid fantasy comes to life.

Check out this guy emerging from the shadows!!! :hi5:

:lol I know you've heard that story a couple of times before. Once in English and once in jixbrisxshk :drink :google

Really, not all 20 survived, huh? Interesting and a damn shame. That reminds me to add to the story (not to Mags; to the rest I haven't told before :lol) that mine actually was a returned piece that broke during shipping. The buyer returned this one, Rainman replaced that guy's with his own personal piece and fixed this one to perfection (damage completely undetectable). That's the only reason why Rainman even had this available when I contacted him, because they were long sold out from his site.

So the whole thing was a perfect storm. I don't know the first thing about 1/6, stumble into a vintage punk shop and these Alex figures catch my eye; go and research Alex figs only to find a rare and pure diamond in the rough sitting on eBay. And then to go a step further and find Lucy. WHAT ARE THE ODDS?!?! Meant to be it was :lecture

^^ And those right there are the 2 videos that I found in my digging that made me know I NEEDED these two pieces, and what began my love for this hobby

And just for sheeets & giggles, here's a little something else I found in that same vintage shop (Search & Destroy is the name)

I'll play.
