Is Josh grabbing mortar and ill grabbing boom almost EVERY single round not getting easy cheapo kills as well? Especially when you spawn on the side with them all the time while the other side get ink. I mean seriously. A kill is a kill isn't it?
Wow, way to contradict yourself.

As has been stated before, the use of mortar is pointless unless you have someone spotting for you and as for me at boom, you know where I'll be come and stop me. Oh that's right, you don't get into the mix, you hide out in the back and pick off the ones your team hasn't already killed. Ialso don't ever recall shooting the boom in the air and getting an automatic kill, most people can't buy a kill with it.

I am not contradicting anything. I am point out that if what you do every round is ok then so is the two piece. If you know Iam gonna two piece then stop me. Fair is fair right?

And FYI when I play public I get in the mix pleanty. There is no "mix" when we all play. There are very few people who just rush in so I won't either. If Idid I'd just get killed right away trying to go 1 on 4 or 5 while the other team just sits back and lancers me down. No thanks.

I've been using the lancer a lot more lately. Works great... this game is definitely geared around lancing and chainsaw battles.

I don't really want to get in the middle here, but I just can't get my head around the argument. How is chainsawing someone skilled, while a mêlée and then shooting them not? Why is a mêlée by itself ok, but following it with the shotgun not? All the weapons require skill, some more than others, but even chainsawing won't work half the time. For that matter, why does it matter which method a person uses to kill the opponent if that is the object of the game, and it was programmed into the game and not a "cheat" produced by some nefarious means?

The real skill in Gears is being quick enough to avoid kills, knowing where the other team will be, and a strategy to get them before they get you... all of which I'm not too good at apparantly... because Lord knows that if I shoot someone in the face three times with a shotgun and get 0 points, I must not be skilled with the weapon...

2 piece is cheap but its no cheaper then the ass clowns that down you from across the map with a smoke and stand over you holding B with the lancer. There all things epic needs to fix but until they do we just gotta live with it the way it is. Oh and FF should be a must for this game(theres too many fools out there just blasting away and getting luck kills when if FF was on they'd have taken out half there team). L4D has FF and it works fine, some shoots teamates you vote and boot them.

There's nothing to drop, Bagels.

My point is that there is no way to get unanimously agreed upon,'fair' and 'good' kills in this game. There will always be complaining about something.

I honestly don't really like playing the game. I just like playing with you guys, and most of the time you play Gears 2. I would much rather play L4D.

Or the game is broken:monkey3

Who ever said that chainsawing was a skill?

My post says that the feature of the game is chainsaw battles (which don't work half the time anyway). Nobody ever said that chainsawing requires skill.

Two piecing is bunk because it's not a built in feature. A highlight of GOW2 was supposed to be chainsaw duels... not 2 piecing duels.

Thats how I feel. If I get you with whatever weapon Mortar, Boom, Frags, Ink, Lancer, Torque, Snipe, Shottie, etc. Then I was skilled enough that round to do what I had to do. Thats why I don't give a rats whazoo if it bugs someone with what weapon I use. My feeling is get there and stop me if you do then congrats but if not don't get ticked at me cause I got ya.

I think the one thing that has annoyed me is the blatent whoring for a specific weapon by the same players. I mean it's almost like playing bots programmed to do the same thing every single round of every single match. I used to do it for Snipe in Gears 1 and people commented on it and got annoyed with it, but now it's ok in Gears 2. Go figure.

I can say it never bothered me, but I can say I have teased you and Ill in the past. I'm going to go for the weapons that I feel help me maximize my chances of doing damage. So I'm going to do what's best for me and my team.

Easy way to fix that is set ever weapon that spans to the same weapon(snipe only, boom only) It equals itself out and forces people to get better with weapons they dont usually play with/like. JMO

Part of the problem BM is that we lose several players that way, but oh well I guess.

Ok, but then Gears 1 and 2 were both supposed to be "cover" battles, shooting from a distance and using strategy, yet Anders constantly gets crap for "staying under cover" behind walls and people complain about others "hiding" and sneaking up on them... explain that.

Simple no matter how you kill someone 99% of the time its BS.:monkey3

why should i have to explain anything? anders does his thing. once again, if he chooses to do that, and it works for him, then so be it.

if people want to complain about others hiding, then so be it. i don't see how it's the same as the two piece?
