This scam has been around for a number of years. If I had a dollar for every incident I've had to investigate......
The thing I would worry about, and not to worry you needlessly, is his showing up where you work. You showed him you have money and told him where you work. Me, I'd park close to the building for a while and make sure the lights in the lot all work.

I'm a strong believer in Karma, (esspecially when you spice it up with a touch of Sutra)!!
In all honesty, you did the right thing, you just helped someone out that was in a bind. Unfortunately, there are people out there that scam people like this which could make you think twice about helping others.

Lets put it this way, if you have lost $20, you'll make double that back in the coming weeks somehow...trust me.

The guy told me he makes almost $150K a year and would come by my work and give me $200 tomorrow for helping him out.

That's how you know it's a scam. But if all he got was $20, then it's a life lesson worth the price.
