That's a really nice discount.

But I'm not in the US, & that's still more than I want to pay for this. Definitely nice discount though :D

Its still too much for most people

Furthermore, it is a lot to ask from consumers for a new intellectual property of GGs. These aren't pop culture icons like Marvel, DC, Star Wars, LoTR, Video Games, Film etc...

For $670, I'd rather invest in something I cherish to begin with.

Totally understand. Wish I could sell this for less but this is really the lowest I could go while giving a significant discount to customers while still turning a profit.

Where are you located Lawrence?

I totally agree, and that is probably the biggest challenge that this line is facing. I just fear that they will fall into the backdrop of ones collection. If not to begin with then at least over time.

These are just absurd in price. I don't care about ES but that is the only thing I can think of that would make these worth that much. Details are nice but come on, $669?!!

pfff...been waiting so long to get news about this new line from GG and now that i see the price,...well let me put it this way: in a spit second i'm not interested anymore...way overpriced i'd say!

WTF?? Even with a discount, I'm not paying $562.50 to my LCS for this!! Luckily I don't have much interest in this. How do you guys justify the price man?

I didn't know this statue was this big, is it 57cm to the top of the head or to the top of the arrow?

At this size it reminds me more of the few big statues based on Sorayama's drawings, years ago.
I'd pay up to $500 for this, only problem is where I live it's 500eur.. too much.. I would at least expect great detail on the head, which it doesn't seem to have (I find it sad that "dolls" look much better).
And yet this statue has the most detailed back of a foot I ever saw. One of the hands too has detail, yet in some other places it's rather rough. People naturally look at faces, even on statues, why would one sculpt ears with less detail than the back of a foot?

What also bothers me is that they're 100% sculpted. I thought that Derby had mixed material for the socks, but they're sculpted too, & too many parts would have benefitted of being painted separately & assembled, not roughly painted over. And Derby would have been nice with soft hair.

Looks like a lot a detail to me. Other resin statues don't compare. If you are referring to the texture on "dolls" like Hot Toys figues, that's usually limited to the soft vinyl used for the head. You cannot use that kind of vinyl for a whole figure because it is too soft (unless you fill it with something rigid). Plus you cannot easily blend seamlines on vinyl and definitely cannot do it with the translucent vinyl used for skin. They are different techniques used for different purposes. Plus you get mold lines with vinyl while on resin mold lines are sanded and painted over.

While we have yet to see a production Honey Trap statue, the prototype shows the best that resin has to offer pretty much from any company.

ok so tell me how enterbay did their "black label" Bruce?
And btw most of today's dolls have detailed neck & upper-body, pretty much everything that's visible (& usually dumb-looking because of massive doll joints next to excess of detail).

When it can be done articulated it can obviously be done non-articulated.

Yes this statue is one of the best resin ones, but only because others aren't amazing either, & no one is moving to reach the quality of "dolls" only because people keep buying.
I'm not saying dolls are perfect either, I don't like visible articulations, they share the same plastic wig-looking hair, but the fact is that I can hardly watch at a resin statue after having seen what Hot Toys or Enterbay can do. And the bonus part is that dolls won't break (or be already broken in the box).

& I maintain that it would be better with more separated parts. Look at her watch, it looks bad where the skin meets the watch, like it usually does when it's painted over. It's always better when it's a separated watch prop attached to the arm.

Note that I admire the work on some rare resin statues, mostly the predator/alien ones that have life-like textures. But with humans it rarely works.

Enterbay most likely did the upper torso in one piece cast. something you candl with a simple pose. GG just doesn't deal with vinyl just as Hot Toys and Enterbay don't deal with resin. I'm happy with and prefer resin for these statues.

If you prefer vinyl, I'd suggest contacting Enterbay and telling them you want realistic vinyl female statues. If they know there is a market for them, they might do it. Yamato does vinyl female statues. You may want to look into those.

I'm not against vinyl. I have the Kotobukiya line of Star Wars troopers. But they use a firmer vinyl and are completely paint and thus lack the details and translucency. I do wonder want the long term stability of vinyl versus resin. Softer vinyl can warp when its warm unless it's filled. I had some older anime vinyl statues that sweat and get greasy, but i think most of the manufacturers have better materials now. Vinyl is definitely a less costly material but require steel injection molds so there is an investment for that. For lower edition size like the Sucker Punch or Honey Trap, silicone molds for resin are a better option.

Wow I have not been here for a while. Am I seeing that the reg is 669.99 not including shipping and tax? Just wow! So VS and others who really wanted them, are you going to get these? I'm out..... Culo collectors are in trouble here. :panic: these are some major culo to miss out on. Maybe GG is setting the new market prices for a 1/4? SS will be watching to see how well these sell.

My favorite is the female Rock N' Roll... but I'll be passing on them, because of the price AND the size. 1:4 is too big for me. I don't have the space for anything that size in my apartment, so I draw the line at 1:6.

Recently I bought the DC Collectibles Man of Steel Superman Iconic Statue, and it's also sculpted by Gentle Giant Studios. It's 1:6, and it's the biggest thing in my collection. I'll be getting some more stuff of that size, but I'll pass on anything that's bigger.
