I just want the highest quality, most "screen accurate" piece.

Ditto...but most of the Attakus statues are inspired by promotional shots, not on-screen images.

Take the forthcoming Wicket and Tusken Raider statues, and Grievous for that matter, they are based on merchandising/ studio shots...not moments captured from a given scene:

Hi Everyone,

I like both Gentle Giant and Attakus pieces. Gentle Giant made some really great busts and their Dewback statue and Chewbacca are really nice. Attakus makes a nice statue, except Luke. Nice suit though. I would like to see what the Luke on the Taun Taun looks like in person because the only one I own is the one from Applause, which isn't all that bad. I think with Gentle Giant, you get what you pay for. The Maul is a $139.99 piece, The Luke is a $129.99 piece and the Lando Skiff is a $39.99 piece. Even the Vader, I thought was worth the $149.99 selling price. Was it the best Vader, no. But it is alot less than the Attakus of Sideshow Vaders. Not everyone can afford to spend $700-800 on an Attakus Vader and for those people on a limited budget, the GG Vader is a nice piece.

I agree...so far my favorite overall is GG though. Excellent pieces for the price IMO. Sideshow Luke didn't do it for me and they haven't put anything else out yet. Attakus I like the non-human pieces as they seem almost perfect...but you have the cost.

Sideshow should jump up quite a bit with the release of Han, then Vader, then Grievous...etc.

Many people said that. But, if you compare it to the Attakus Pieces, the SS piece wins in the likeness department hands down.

The only other semi decent Luke is the GG Bust. Which still isn't all that great. I think the SS Statue has a better likeness to Hammil then the GG bust. IMHO

I am chomping at the bit to see the Luke Jedi coming out from Attakus. What are the odds they will make 2 bad Luke statues? I hope for a good one. I am getting tired of looking at my Unleashed Luke Jedi. LOL.

The person that took that pic did it to show just how poorly the GG Vader holds up to the 2 Attakus versions.

Maybe in your opinion. I saw nothing in either Vader that made me think it was any better than the GG Vader. The only thing I like about it more than the GG is the size.

Just because it's more expensive doesn't mean it's better. It's more expensive because they are produced in France not in China, the material used is different and it's a bigger scale.
As for the sculptures I think the GG pieces are more accurate and have more dynamic poses. I guess that's my opinion and you guys won't change yours, so there's no point in trying to argue what's the best Star Wars manufacturer. Just keep what you like. :\

Huh? I'm saying that I know who took the picture, and he likes his Attakus Vaders much more than the GG one. I was just stating the opinion of the person who took the picture (cap70 at statueforum).

Want to know whats wrong with GG:

Their website sucks
Cant place a order over the phone.
Their release skedule sucks
A 1/6 Charlie and the Chocolate factory figure google )
Orders being cancelled (over selling) to dealers


But other than that they are alright although why make all these cool busts when you can have them be cooler looking statues.:bang

I think Luke on Tauntaun will be my first GG!

I've only one question about him:

His right arm seems to have a big gap were it connects to his body! This reminds me too much of the 70/80s plastic figures with moveable arms. I take it his arms wont move? Or will it come in a few peices and you have to put his arms in place? If so, then that is a big joinning gap!

I wasn't going to get the Luke on Tauntaun but now I think I will. Darth looks pretty good also.

It's probably just the prototype. If you look closely, you'll see another seam where the tauntaun's arms are connected.

I'll be getting Luke to go with my dewback statue. Maul will be lonely for awhile once I get him since I had the Vader and sold him. I won't get Lando because I prefer statues over busts.
