Truly one of the greatest comedians that ever took the stage. His unique brand of humor will definitely be missed. Thanks George for never being afraid to tell it like it is and bringing so much laughter to so many people. We'll miss you. R.I.P.

This year has been the year of death.... So many people that I respected and looked up to for their artistry have passed this year. It's been horrible. Every single one was a shock and hit too close to home.

I feel the same way. Maybe its just because we are at that age where our childhood favorites begin to pass. :(

Carlin was the man. His HBO specials will never be beat by anyone.

Re: George Carlin Dies.

Theres 2 threads on this already....this is sad news though.

This is a big loss for the comedy worl, George's material may have been edgy, but he was very intelligent and raised some great points with his material, very sad day, I was bummed when a co-worker informed me of this. George is an integral part of my day, I usually have a least one of his albums on my iPod for the work day, in his memory I'll be listening to him today, RIP George.

Damn! Another great one this year! :monkey2

RIP George. You truly made me laugh. Thanks for that. :bow
Make sure they know those seven words up there bro! :rock

Wow, now this is weird... I had a strange dream last night that someone died. Usually my dreams don't stick with me but for some reason this did. I just felt like someone passed. Something told me to look at the front page of yahoo and there was Carlin... Such a shame, he truly was a comedic genius and never had a down moment to me, never told an unfunny joke... I got the pleasure of finally seeing him live around this time last year and it was something that i'll never forget. He will be truly missed...

Very sad news, I remember watching him as a kid and the whole family just rolling. Probably didn't understand half of his jokes (at the time) but still loved it. He's one of those comics who really defined what a stand-up comic was for me.

Definitely a big loss.

I am sad to here he's passed away.

I used to love his comedy, but he got WAY too self righteous for my taste the last few years. While I understand he had thoughts and opinions and the right to express them, I just got tired of watching him go off on political rants most of the time.

Sad news indeed. He was pretty funny overall sometimes a bit too far but overall I enjoyed watching him.
