It's funny how people call the prequels crappy. But at the time I remember looking at all the small kids in the theatre opening day and they had the same look i did when I saw the original in the theaters in '77. Some of the haters need to stop and think maybe the prequels weren't solely made for them.

I was a kid when the prequels came out and saw the originals at around roughly the same time. I consider myself a control group in this debate.

I can say without a doubt that the prequels definatly suck. I remember thinking that even back when I was 9.

I agree, I was 7 in 1977... I loved Star Wars...

BUT... so did my parents.

I dislike the prequels and SO DO MY PARENTS.

So, the prequels are BAD in my eyes.

Kids do love the prequels, there is ton of eye candy. But for my tastes, they are just weak and feel dead/emotionless.

Yes i was referring to CVI, personally i can't even begin to think what its gonna be. Surely Underworld is still about 3-4 years away, may be the 50 scripts will be turned into novels or video games????

The thing with GL is he changes his mind so often, i believe they'll be some exciting news at the event, apparently they've held the news back until then.

And sorry my contacts must remain secret lol. Filoni runs CW series but KL is progressing up the ladder at Lucasfilm.

Fair enough , does the yet unreleased info have to do with starwars 1313?

I probably fit in that group too. I got into SW through the OT when I was 13. I wasn't even born when Jedi was released in theaters and I didn't grow up with SW. I loved the OT and wanted to love the PT, but nope.

My parents, who were adults in '77, loved the OT and hated the prequels.

The prequels, IMHO, are terrible films.

I was born in 1975. I grew up with the classic trilogy in its hay-day. They are the greatest films of all time in my opinion. That said, my children have grown up with the prequels and they LOVE them. The prequels in thier own right are also good films.
I know a few people who also claim to hate them though. They hate them so much that they own multiple copies of each of film and to have seen them each 10+ times.

Saw Star Wars in 1979, Empire Strikes back in 1980, and Return of the Jedi in 1983. All in the theater, with accompanying Star Wars toy Christmases. Played Tatooine in sandpits, Hoth in the snow, Endor in the woods.

I don't think the prequels are as good as the OT (not even close), but I still like them well enough.

That's a fair assessment. I always thought Episode I and II were subpar for Star Wars movies but were good films for the most part. Revenge of the Sith I would put above Jedi but below the original and of course Empire.

Mace Windu
A very good fill in for young Obi
Yoda dueling
Grievous
Maul
QuiGon
Emperor dueling
Count Dooku
CW spinoff

If people don't like them because of JarJar, whiny Anakin, etc.. oh well, their loss. My glass is half full and theres alot in the movies that will stick with me as a fan forever.

Yep, can agree with that for the most part, too -- though maybe I'd kind of tie them as I like some parts of Jedi more than parts of Sith and vice versa.

Of course of all the films I probably own the most collectables from Return of the Jedi, go figure.

Not surprising as there are so many iconic designs in ROTJ between Jabba's palace, the biker scouts, Imperial guards, etc. A lot of great stuff in that movie.

I thought that at first (saw ROTS seven times in the theater), but between Jabba's palace and the throne room scenes in ROTJ (particularly after having been such a fan of ROTS), the OT are still my top three.

A lot to be said of ROTS, though. Last 45 minutes were unreal.

Yeah, that's the thing. Was going to mention it in my post, too, but you said it more succinctly, anyway. Jabba's palace just blew me away the first time I saw it and lived-up to all the anticipation I had for years wondering about Han's fate; as did all the scenes between the Emperor, Vader and Luke. Endor was the one let down to me and only really with subsequent viewings. First time I saw the speeder bike scenes I was pretty thrilled, too.

ROTS is still essential, though. Really like a lot about that movie, along with individual scenes from TPM and AOTC (Obi-Wan chasing the Slave I through the asteroid field is still one of my favourite sequences from all six movies, visually).

I always forget speeder bikes. But yeah, best part of Endor.

There's a lot in the prequels that I love, and on occasion, I end up in the right zone where I can appreciate Episodes 1 or 2 in their entirety (Ep.3 does most of its own work).

I was reading a bunch of X-Men lately. Messiah Complex and Second Coming and everything in between. I kept thinking that it was an amazing story, but I wish it was a classic novel instead of a comic book. The writing absolutely did not live up to the ambitions of the story. Ultimately, it didn't matter. I still loved it.

The dialouge was the clunkyest, the acting was the worst, Darth Vader' curruption was rushed, CGI was over the top, and to this day, I still cannot get over the fact that the mighty Darth Vader is simply an annoying and awkward effeminate boy who whines alot. I just cannot connect the two characters as one in the same.

Yep, one of the worst connect the dots of all times. It was rushed and probably would have come off a little better if there was a little more arrogance and a little less emo in the performance.

That being said, this one sported some great fight scenes, the fall of the Jedi, and was not focused around JarJar. If you haven't watched it in awhile, pop in the Bluray and just enjoy. I've watched it dozens of times and the visuals still astound me.
