Gotta give credit to that interviewer. He got a lot more in-depth interview out of GL than I've read in a long time. The guy is usually shut like a clam, but he really seemed to be more open with his remarks this time. Good stuff.

I think GL has finally chilled out. All the pressure of movies if off him, and he seems to be doing things his way and at his pace, which he seems to prefer. He has this 'when its done, its done' attitude, which is cool. Something we wish we could all do in our professional lives.

Thanks for the link.

I think it's appropriate to not have Jedi at this point in the story. They should be extremely rare or in hiding, and anyway it could be interesting to see another side of the Star Wars universe after seeing so much of the Jedi in the prequels and Clone Wars series.

I agree but it seems kind of a risk to have it focus on very minor or unheard of characters. You'd think Vader would make a few appearances a year. I thought this would have some focus on bounty hunters as well.

I wonder what groups will be struggling against the Empire in this series?

Looking forward to seeing a 3D animated series for star wars

Wonder what its being done with ? or do we think theyve built something from the ground up ?

Good read, like how there's going to be stormtrooper in the live action show and how you will hear about the emperor and vader but not see them, outer-rim style.
We feel the same way about Rome, why no more and they miss out the golden age of the romen empire.

I think this could potentially include quite a lot about bounty hunters. It could focus primarily on the human elements within the rebellion as it gets going and gains support. I don't know what Jimmy Smits is up to but he could definitely cameo and be a key guest star. There's a lot they could do with the show and I'm really looking forward to it. And unlike Luke or Han or Leia, Vader and the droids and Chewie and Jabba could be briefly glimpsed under special circumstances because the characters don't depend upon human likenesses from thirty years ago. I don't know exactly where it will fall in between Episodes III and IV, so that will certainly dictate some of the casting and character choices.

My only potential problem with the live-action series is that no Jedi = no kick-ass lightsaber action. :maul

Very good interview, thanks for the link!

I wish we could see some chapters from the Empire's point of view. You know, bunch of stormtroopers trying to make it through their tour of duty against those damned terrorists!
I'd love that.
501st Band of Brothers style. Now that would be something.

If George wants to see 100 episodes out of the live action series he will have to buckle down with the storytelling... Deadwood and Rome are great examples of the bar that is set! There are still so many questions to be answered within the Star Wars Universe...
