i was disappointed the "I'm a motorist" bit wasnt in the movie. also noticed the parts with diddy explaining the adrenaline needle and the guy pitching mexican jonas brothers didnt make it.

I've always been a Puff Daddy hater but he was hilarious in this movie.

Pretty much everything is hilarious about this movie though. It's a solid comedy. Is there really any denying* that Apatow is the comedic voice of his generation? He's only a producer on this one but still.

*credible denial, as in criticism that does not include "opinions" like "Jonah Hill is less talented than my turd's nutsack".

But yeah, I hope all you haters had a lot of fun staying home being grumpy while America made this movie the #1 new release of the week and Rottentomatoes.com has it ranked higher than "Iron Man 2" and "Splice". You guys win!

I'm not a big P Diddy fan either, but I agree he pretty much stole the movie. He's actually a pretty good actor (Monster's Ball for example).

This movie had its funny moments but nothing to write home about.

It was an okay movie but nothing jumped out at me. Major letdown.

5 out of 10. Very average.

I enjoyed it. Like I said in the rate a movie thread, I had no idea P-Diddy could be funny. He totally stole the show. All the characters were decently funny imo. Really liked Rose Byrne as a pop star, her music video was a good jab at some young female musicians.

whoever the long haired British guy who did the MTV awards awhile back... hate 'em. Don't plan on seeing anything that he is in.

Do tell...

Tornados and bad storms in the area all night. So far 7 dead. Two young girls drove right into one. :(

I saw it and thought it was pretty funny. It was pretty raunchy and not afraid to be so and the use and mention of drugs, involving an out of control rocker. Puffy Diddy Honey Combs was actually very funny in the movie too!!

The correlation between a movie being #1 for a weekend and it's quality is skewed. Consider that Sex and the City 2 was #1 for its opening weekend. Would anyone argue that film's crappyness?

I don't think anyone is actively hating this film without good reason.

If you're hating on it without seeing it - that's the very definition of "without good reason."

But some movies...you just KNOW they're bad.

Sherk 4
Sex In The City
Eclipse
Killers
The Kung Fu...I mean, Karate Kid
ect....

I find Hill and Brand to be two of the most unlikeable people in movies today.

It's sad when I like Diddy the best of three actors, although he was pretty awesome in Made.

Freaking Jonah Hill is in everything. How is someone so unfunny in everything? Oh, I forgot, he is friends with powerful people.

the only one worse than him is michael cera. i hate that ****:monkey4.
and yet everyone loved the two of them together in ****ing superbad...THAT MOVIE SUCKED!!!

"Superbad' will stand the test of time. People will be watching it 30 years from now like "Animal House". Mark my words.

I actually think most of the Apatow productions will be beloved for decades to come in the same way that people still love movies by John Hughes, Harold Ramis, John Landis, Ivan Reitman etc. Maybe not "Drillbit Taylor" and "Year One" but "Anchorman", "The 40-Year-Old Virgin", "Superbad", "Knocked Up", "Pineapple Express"? Those movies aren't falling out of favor any time soon.

If the internet was around in the late 70's and early 80's people would be hating on Hughes and Ramis too. Not that it would matter, kinda like how the Apatow/Rogen/Hill haters don't seem to make much of a dent as far as their popularity goes.

But yeah, I think 99% of it is just a bunch of "I'm a fat ugly shlub just like this guy but he makes millions of dollars and bangs hot girls and I'm a sandwich artist" jealousy.
