I found this scan on Rebelscum.com. It's from the newest Toy Fare magazine. I wish someone would post the article text.

I never bothered with GG, but I'll keep an eye on this line. There are some characters I'd like to pick up.

Since I hold my original Kenner figures near-and-dear to my heart, I think I'm going to collect this line. There's something about the simplistic look of the original figures that I think will translate into a 12-inch version.

There is something of a lost art in these vintage figures. They don't pretend to be realistic, only to fail miserably at it. The aesthetics are simple, and hold up today fine, even when blown up. Admittedly, the Stormtrooper wasn't the best looking figure, so I thought it was an odd choice for the first entry.

But take Amanaman, Yakface, Wicket, and Vader.. those would look awesome!

F it. I'm getting these. People are giving props to Sideshow for taking a chance and "thinking outside the box" with Cyborg Maul. Well, THIS is doing just that... and actually paying homage to vintage collecting at the same time. Winner: Gentle Giant, this time. Never thought I'd see that day again.

The original Kenner molds are icons in and of themselves. I spent many more hours playing with the figures than watching the actual films. I don't know that I'll be able to commit $1785 plus shipping for all 21 but I'll definitely cherry pick a few.

Yeah.. I've spent over 30 years collecting and playing with OT stuff. Pretty burnt out on it at this point, but these are a kind of neat idea (if a bit overpriced).

I may bite on a few if the price is right. I could see the Vader hanging on my wall.

Holy crap, based on info on the rebelscum forums THIS LINE IS THE MOST EXCITING COLLECTIBLE NEWS since SSC announced the 12 inch GI Joe line.

GG actually has a rep on rebelscum (since when did THAT happen? I thought they hated their customers :lol) answering all kinds of questions.

New info:

The con exclusive Stormtrooper and Fett will come on ESB cards and retail for $85.

After that the original 12 (including the ST) will come on SW cards and apparently sell for $70 a piece. Much better!

Cardbacks will pop open and be resealable.

They will have foot pegs and original legal branding on the backs of their legs.

In additional to the original 12 other figures will be mixed in as well. A Gamorrean Guard was mentioned as an early favorite in addition to confirmations of Greedo, Snaggletooth, and Hammerhead.

Large and Small Head Han Solo will be included and....

A VINYL CAPED JAWA. :thud:

I AM DOWN WITH THIS LINE. :rock

Make mine...Gentle Giant?

While this definitely came out of left field, I think it's a pretty cool idea. I doubt that I would get the entire line, but I'd definitely be down for a few of my favorites.

Every day GG is revealing a new figure until the complete Stormtrooper cardback is shown on their Facebook page. In three more days the cardback will be complete. Looks like the first 12 are already in the can! :google

Actually, they'll have to leave one of the original 12 off the cardback if Boba's there. He wasn't one of the original 12.

So is the stormtrooper currently up for order on the GG site if you are a premiere member? Do you have to pick them up at the con or do they ship them to your home?

I'm not a member - not sure if I would join just to get first dibs on the con exclusives - but I may end up picking up a few of these.
