GG 12-inch Vintage Stormtrooper

I really like the idea of having a "Sears Catalog" style curio display of 12 inch figures.

Holy crap, based on info on the rebelscum forums THIS LINE IS THE MOST EXCITING COLLECTIBLE NEWS since SSC announced the 12 inch GI Joe line.

GG actually has a rep on rebelscum (since when did THAT happen? I thought they hated their customers ) answering all kinds of questions.

New info:

The con exclusive Stormtrooper and Fett will come on ESB cards and retail for $85.

After that the original 12 (including the ST) will come on SW cards and apparently sell for $70 a piece. Much better!

Cardbacks will pop open and be resealable.

They will have foot pegs and original legal branding on the backs of their legs.

In additional to the original 12 other figures will be mixed in as well. A Gamorrean Guard was mentioned as an early favorite in addition to confirmations of Greedo, Snaggletooth, and Hammerhead.

Large and Small Head Han Solo will be included and....

A VINYL CAPED JAWA.

I AM DOWN WITH THIS LINE.

I mainly post on Rebelscum and they do have 2 GG reps there, but trust me there not that good. They don't reveal too much and if you complain to much they get upset and then we get warned. Should that surprise anyone?

I wasn't happy with this line, but its growing and growing on me...I just ordered Stormy and I hope to order Fett...

I'm hoping that places like BBTS will be able to offer them for even less than that.

I'm glad some more Freaks seem to be on board with this line. I think we've finally got something interesting from GG to talk about.

This line looks really cool. I didn't have the Vintage figures as a kid. I was only 2 when the ANH came out and my parents didn't buy me SW.

At this point not actually seeing them in person and in hand, I have to say they are over priced right now. $85 for the Con exclusives? That's too much. I suppose the regular releases will be $60 or so. Still too much, but hell they might be worth it.

Cool dude, yeah that's me Turbowars. I have been a memeber here for a while, but SSC has really stepped up to the plate and has really been impressing me so I'm a bit more active. Plus I have been in the custom SW threads with my 1/6th Gonk and WED Droid.

I can't wait to see the figures with vinyl capes and robes.

Sorry to hear that you had a rough patch bro, but glad to hear things are better. I'm still in the same place. I had to stop going to sirsteves to help force me to quit the plastic habit

I'm sticking with PF's for my SW habit nowadays, but still can't help but oogle over the figures & ships in my Target shopping visits, and still buy the occasional Sith figure. Red sabers have always been my weakness. You still hear from snags dude?

Those PF are cool, but I don't have the room. I still like GG and SSC 12" is look mighty good these days. I had to buy a Hasbro AT-AT. One of the best ships ever.

Yeah man life was crazy, it went like this. Truck totaled, Getting Cancer and divorcing my wife. Now I'm cured with no wife and a new truck, life is back on track.

Yeah man, I used to be more Gentle Giant/Hasbro...Now my main focus is Sideshow 80%, Hot Toys 10%, Gentle Giant (whenever something cool comes out) 5%, Hasbro 5%...

I like RS forums, but their really not as active as here...especially when it comes to Sideshow.

Seen your customs and I really like both...

Can't wait to see the vinyl capes and robes...Im sure they look bad ass...

The concept is still a little strange to me. The idea is definitely fleshed out better with them being the group of the original batch of SW figures + Boba. I just can't help but feel that making them in 1:6 is excessive. I understand that making these vintage figures they had to be bigger than their original 3 3/4" conuterparts. Part of their charm is that they have limited articulation and are a little primitive in their sculpt. But at 12" the charm maybe works a little against them. Maybe they could have split the difference and done these as 6" maybe. 12" figures just seems overwhelming.
