Both of mine seem to have sloppy paintwork, especially at the hairline, ears, etc. Thinking about getting another set to see if any better. my #'s are in the 1800 & 2000 series.

Yeah, its an odd expression no doubt.

The doilies come out for all product shots. Its tradition. :rock

GREAT pics Josh. I actually like 'em with and without the helms. The more I see this line, the more I like 'em -- but still won't collect 'em.

The helms are very cool....Frodo's face bugs me so much if I bought these I would probably keep his helm on.....plus his orc helm was one of my favorites of all the orc helms.

sam's helmet seems kinda tight on mine. like its rubbing his nose. i fear it will rub the paint off if i keep putting it on and taking it off. i had these displayed for a while and they looked great with their helmets sitting next to them. but i have limited space right now so i packed them away for a while:monkey2

gotta save room for 1/6 scale frodo and sam:D

Not bad looking, Sam has a great look to him... but Frodo's a bit weak. Sometimes those expressive pieces just don't work out as well.

Frodo's fine - he's in pain, and his eyes are a tad too big, but the likeness is one of the very best we've gotten of poor Frodo. Sam is better, and Saruman kicks all kinds of ass.

Oh, and I'll have a review up of all three on Thursday night.

I'd agree with this analysis. Frodo is not perfect, but it is about as good an Elijah Wood as I've seen. From certain angles it is very nice. One does have to keep in mind that it is not the healthy well fed Frodo from the Shire. Sam is Excellent, and So is Saruman.

However, Saruman is feeling a little redundant to me with the Weta piece. I'll grant that this likeness is actually better, but I love the Weta pieces, and generally prefer full size sculpts. I've been feeling a little pressure to scale back lately for cost/space reasons and Saruman might get resold on those grounds.
