Yeah, I have not received mine as of yet, but I am not sorry I ordered and kept her. I wish Sideshow would release a PF over this version of her though...

Picked mine up from Adam last night... looks about the same as the above pictures... not quite as perfect as the prototype, but still pretty good.

Does your's have the one wonky eye?

SideShow would be hardpressed to improve on this piece. Despite the poor paint apps on this particular piece from that collector (seen other Leia's with better eyes) and the small cartoonish hands, her body, the cloth she sits atop, and her face, which is the best likeness to Carrie Fisher to date, would be hard to improve on. It could be done, but it wouldn't be easy. This is a near perfect piece in my opinion and why I had to absolutely have it!

No... just not quite as perfect paint job as the prototype. To me, the prototype almost looked like the real thing on a quick glance, but the final statue... not as much.

How so? You mean the skin tone? It can't be because of the whole cloth covering the butt cheek. That, along with the colour of the sheets was the only thing they altered.

You do realize that on most occasions (not always) the mass produce product doesn't look as nice as the prototype. As we all know it's because extra detail and attention to that detail is put into the prototype as it is the piece that sells us on the mass produced pieces.

Oh, of course I know the prototypes are always much better... what I meant is the paint apps just don't do the sculpt any justice (as usual with statues these days). It looks like Carrie, but not as good as it did with the prototype paint job. Nothing serious or anything... it is hard to actually describe it... I guess maybe it is just the difference between the proto and final production and I was hoping for proto quality on this one! :D

...and they changed the color of her skirt.

Gull darnit I deleted the obvious section of my post. Stop quoting me people! Wait until I am done! lol

Anyway, being captain states the obvious, I would like to add it still is a stellar 4 star piece. But you're right, if it was anything like the prototype. It would be stars across the board!

It looks more like Carrie Fisher than the original paint job...

Still, it's nowhere near as good as the $255 Attakus version...

wow The Attakus version is a 100 dollars more and looks like it's worth 200 dollars less than the Gentle Giant version. Eeekk!!!

It's still an overall nice piece, but it is quite dissappointed to see how GG's paint quality (not apps mind you) has gone down from when they started making busts. The original busts had a nice matte, realistic paint used on them, now, the latests releases of humans have the skin in a gloss, cheaper looking (to me) paint, it's applied nicely, but the realism is certainly lost a bit when every figure looks like they've been oiled up on their skin.

Not having it in hand yet, I'd rather not judge the paint by a few flash pics. This is the only GG SW statue that intend to get, so if it's not perfect I'll probably sell it on as it's not compatible with anything else in my collection.

I noticed the flash as well. It washed out all the colors...not just the skin tones.

After buying the Jango Fett mini-bust today, I can't imagine GG screwing up the paint job on this statue...ESPECIALLY after the Obi-Wan Clone Armor debacle. If such sloppy work was done to this statue, I think GG would have to at least be smart to delay the Leia statue and fix it.

Aside from the lazy eye, I'll be picking this one up post haste!

Ummm, the lazy eye isn't on all of the pieces. lol

Gonna get a sloppy paint job here and there. Don't expect all the Leia's to have bad lazy eye like that.

Like any other statue or PF, no one truly looks like the other. Which in a way kind of makes them unique and different.. almost a variant ES 1 of 1. Just some have a better variant 1 of 1 than you. :D

You know, Hasbro prototypes find their way onto Ebay pretty frequently. What are the chances that a copy of the GG Leia's original prototype could get leaked into the collector market? :monkey5

Just wonderin'
