You know, Hasbro prototypes find their way onto Ebay pretty frequently. What are the chances that a copy of the GG Leia's original prototype could get leaked into the collector market? :monkey5

Just wonderin'

You know if it did, no way would she go for 125-180 USD. lol

Try several hundred dollars. Probably aiming low on that. Really low.

Yep. I know I'd drop several hundred on that piece (no pun intended) if I had the space cash at the time.

Same with the Clone Obi-Wan statue (except for he's not as much of a "piece"). :lol

Yea, I'd say it would go for at least $1,200, especially if it was the only one to get into circulation. Though I bet some illegal casts would show up on ebay eventually and they'd probably go pretty cheap.

Don't say that! I have a Leia! :(

hehe

And yeah, I am thinking maybe even higher than 1,200 now! That person would be the envy of 5,500 Slave Leia owners.

btw I saw my GG Slave Leia statue in person. Don't have the funds to pick her up yet, but I asked my LCS guy to let me get a look at her. As a nice guy he said sure. All I can say, is WOW!!! She doesn't suffer any lazy eye. The paint apps on my statue was done extremely well! In fact, it must be from the camera shots taken, but she has no shine to her whatsoever in person. Definitely one of the best looking statues I seen... period!

She is worth every penny!

***** out of 5 in this collector's opinion and I am pretty picky when it comes to high-end collectibles now. hehe

Congrats! I'm glad that you're happy with her. :clap

I'm still waiting for SS to come out with a Slave Leia PF :monkey5
Though I wonder if that would ever get past the Carrie Fisher screen...

Yea, I'm a bit worried about the slave Leia PF. If Carrie can make GG change a fully sculpted statue, what's she going to say about a 1/4 scale figure that would be simple to turn into a nude Carrie Fisher statue?

Wow, the paint in that pictures looks pretty funky. Aside from the eye, why on EARTH did GG use a glossy finish for her skin?

Perverse reasons ASIDE, the flat paint on the prototype looks much more realistic, as does the hair.

GG in my estimation is way too hit-or-miss for a high-end collectible company. For a piece everyone was so excited for, you'd think they'd pull out all the stops to make sure the production looked as good as the prototype, and it doesn't look to me like they did.

Oh well! I have no intention of ever getting one, so to the people that are satisfied with it, more power to you.

This is part of the reason I've gotten away from GG statues. I was really excited about this piece but after seeing pics of yet another horrible paint job, I think I'm just going to go after the Koto Leia instead.

This is my first-- and possibly last/only GG purchase. I simply had to have it after seeing the early shots... and I also have to figure out a way to pose her with my SS Jabba Throne display...

I don't mind the customized Leia that I've got at the moment, but as I'm building the complete throne environment over the summer (and with the Medi Boba hopefully soon on the way) it'll be killer if I could somehow replace the rubber version/Hasbro clothing with a realistic Carrie Fisher...

FYI... the GG statue is one piece. She cannot be removed from the base.

I have to disagree. Not all of the Gentle Giant Slave Leia's suffered from a horrible paint job. Mine is spot on. Looks exactly like the second prototype picture. Too bad it didn't look like the original prototype shots that we saw back at the 2006 SDCC! Also don't use flash while taking pictures! Everyone knows this when concerning collectibles. Look at the non flash shots of GG Slave Leia, she doesn't have any shine to her. Also, like many others have said before me, not every statue will suffer the lazy eye. In fact, I seen other collector's SL's and they don't suffer from lazy eye syndrome. You can also add me to the bunch who doesn't have a lazy eye Leia. If you're disallowing yourself to purchase a product based of one poorly painted statue, from a collector who took a picture with flash, than you're missing out on a real great piece here. I wished someone like Pixar had this in hand. He always takes such amazing pictures. Then you would see just how amazing she looks. But yeah, again, one dud out of a bunch with amateur pictures does not do this piece any justice whatsoever. Just ask the many other GG SL owners out there.

Sorry for rambling on, but I can't believe how well mine came out, and what frustrates me even more is the knowledge that she's here for pick up and I am still days away from having the funds to pay for her! I blame Gentle Giant. This thing was supposed to come out for April, then May. Finally it showed up in June, when my funds have dried out. lol

Oh, I know that--- I knew that when I ordered it--- but that doesn't mean I can't be creative in how to pose her in this scene...

The wheels are turning gentlemen...

wow I had to re-edit my last post a kazillion times because of the piss poor grammar! I can't type while just waking up! lol

Slept in today because of no work today due to what looks to be thunder showers. Damn weather!

Someone please make a casting of the head of this.

The head is truly amazing! Best likeness I seen in a while! I'm not even talking about Carrie Fisher here. Anyone in general! It's like a miniature sized version of her. Almost as if she was shrunken down and held that pose for a long time. A VERY long time.

I love how the earrings are seperate from the rest of the head and how they move around. Also, love the chain. It's an actual chain that can be manipulated. The detail on the gold plated armour of her outfit is amazing. You don't notice it in pictures like you do in person. There is so much amazing detail on this 1/6 scale statue that it's mind blowing! Okay, enough talking about her. OCD'ing way too much! Not healthy. hehe
