I've never actually SEEN a ghost but have had some strange experiences.
The most bizarre centered around my son. When he was an infant he used to wave at people and when he was in his room he used to wave to the corners. It was Christmas a couple years later and my brothers and their families were over and my one brother insisted on seeing the old photo albums that had been locked up in the old hutch buried behind all kinds of toys and stuff. So we dug out the albums and my son walks over and sees a photo in the album of my grandfather and says "The man in my room!"
My grandfather died in the house a year before I was born in 1966 and there were never any photos of him lying around anywhere.

Another time, my brother Ed was telling me about a dream he had about our father who had passed away in '91. He was telling me how he was just sitting there talking about mundane things just like he used to but his house was different and there was a stream running next door with killer whales diving in and out of the water. I had never mentioned this to anyone, and then one morning my son wakes up, and climbs in my lap (He's about 4 at the time) and he says "Daddy, I saw your dad last night."
I responded "Oh did you?"
"Yeah he bought me some ice cream and we watched the killer whales."
Oddly enough, my dad always used to take us out for ice cream.

Man, that is crazy Anzik.... Looks like genuine activity there. Once you have it happen to you, you never look at the dark the same.. that's for sure.

I've had multiple experiences with ghosts, so many that I cannot sleep without the covers over my head.... no poo.

My first was when I was a kid. My parents moved into this trailer in the middle of nowhere that had a below ground pool and a large yard. They thought they had found a steal, as the price was very low... (partly because tenants kept backing out of the lease). The backyard had empty rusty birdcages coming out of the ground, almost like they were buried and were being "rejected" by the earth. In the house I always felt odd and afraid, my parents were angrier than normal and violent at times. One night I was sleeping on the floor next to their bed and my covers started to "boil" as if something were between me and the covers. I tossed the blanket off, thinking that perhaps I was sleeping on a vent... but I wasn't. I ran out into the living room and looked out the window. The sky was red and the potted plants hanging from the ledge were severed heads staring back at me...

My parents ran out and asked me what was wrong... I turned to them and started trying to explain and as soon as I turned back to the window everything was normal.

Years later in Japan, when I was in the Navy I had another scary experience of note. I was staying in one of the oldest barracks on base and woke up suddenly for no reason.... which doesn't happen to me usually. I looked up and saw a shadowy shape standing next to my shelf... looking at my stuff. I watched it for a while, thinking that perhaps my eyes were betraying me. After a while, nothing happened and I started to get a little freaked out so I called out to it.

Nothing happened, it just stopped and backed out into the corner. I started to get really scared and stood up. It looked almost startled and moved out from the corner and as it walked into the light and I realized the impossibility of a shadow existing with light shining right on it.... I ran for the light switch.

I turned right at the moment the switch was thrown and I saw it come straight at me and fade as the light came on. I never slept without the covers over my eyes from that day on..... And if I think something is watching me, I don't dare look.

Thats crazy.

The other day my niece (3 years old) was playing on the phone. She was really talking away like she was having a conversation. I paid little attention as a 3 year old does weird things all the time. A little later she got off the phone and I asked her who she was talking to. She said "papa"(what she called my Dad). I asked her what he said, she said that he told her "that it was ok for her to go to the park that day because it wasnt going to rain", which it had been doing for a few days. Well, it didnt rain that day and she went to the park. I asked her if I could talk to "papa" too. She told me "no, papa said only I can talk to him".

Very weird, and it changed my whole perspective on life and death.

All the cool kids can see and speak to ghosts. Bannister never saw or talked to a ghost as a child.:monkey2:monkey2:monkey2

Thats something no one can take from us!

King, you can help me rape Dave's childhood anytime.

I was always very skeptical about things like this. My mom was a huge believer and since I basically felt she was nuts, anything she had stock in, I automatically discounted.
I told the stories of my son because its pretty hard to say a little kid is lying or making this stuff up where as adults can be seen as reading into things.
So a couple things to add on to the other stories: My (now) sister in law was there when my son did his 'man in my room' thing. Well she never knew my grandfather died in the house and all of a sudden it hit her why she felt uncomfortable and like she was being watched. She's half Japanese and he was pretty racist despite the fact he was half Indian.
I was also jealous that I had never had a dream about my dad like my brother did, and then one night I had the dream. The next day I called my brother up and started to tell him. He stopped me and described the interior of the house in perfect detail, down to the 70's style deco, color of the curtains and the style of cups.
I had one personal experience in a supermarket where I used to work. The store was pretty slow and we didn't have many employees especially in the evenings, so some local kids found they could sneak in the back room and go upstairs to the breakroom and vandalize stuff. So management started locking the door. Since the coffee machine was up there and I was working full time, going to college full time and looking after my 83 yr old grandmother, I needed my coffee, I made sure I got a key to the breakroom.
So one night I went upstairs for a coffee. The room was dark except for the dim lights provided by the glow of the Coke and Pepsi machines. As usual the day shift left the machine a disgusting mess, so I turned on the lights and began cleaning my mechanical lifeline. After I got it to a civilized condition I went into the bathroom to wash up. I flicked on the lights and proceeded over to the sink with the immediate feeling I was being watched. I glanced in the mirrors and even looked under the stalls to verify my solitude. I left, got my coffee and went downstairs. A few minutes later all of the hair on my arms stood straight up and I felt someone close to me. At first I assumed that it was one of my night crew sneaking up on me to play a practical joke or to try and scare me. This was common night crew practice, especially since I taught them all how to do it. So I hopped up on one of the rolling tables we used that gave me a good vantage point over the shelves and I could see all four people working in their aisles. So I hop down, take a sip of my coffee and try and ignore it. I can only describe it as the uncomfortable feeling of an impatient stare.
So I walk down to the other end of the store to speak with my coworker Lisa (who eventually became my wife...) and made small talk. Very soon she asked what was wrong. I said "nothing." She said, 'really what's wrong?"
"Promise you won't think I'm nuts?
So I convey the story. I go back down to my end of the store and immediately back in my space it happens again.
I go back to see Lisa.
I turned the corner and she says "It happened again didn't it?"
So she comes down to my end and nothing happens. As soon as I moved about 10 feet from her, she said "its happening isn't it?" I asked how she knew and she said I went completely pale and all my hair was standing up.
So she asks me to tell her what happened up there again, and I do.
She asks "Did you turn the lights back off when you were done?"
"no..."
"Well maybe you should do that."
I replied "Thats a good idea! are you coming with me?"
So we went up to the breakroom, turned out the lights and everything was fine.
We got downstairs and she asked if I felt better now. I said yes I feel much better.
"Good" she says "Because I didn't want to tell you but I felt something woosh past me as we went up the stairs."
I made sure I turned the lights off from then on.
