You should try shipping product on a Chinese container ship. There really is a "slow boat to (from) China" as the expression goes.

I should tell the story , sometime, about how a container with 250,000 Old Spice Will Ferrell "Semi-Pro" bath poufs we made caused a ruckus. It came over from China on a slow boat, which apparently gave the cockroaches inside time enough to reproduce, feasting on cardboard or glue or who knows what so when they opened the container in the US warehouse THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of cockroaches came pouring out!! Luckily, the product was safely sealed away from the little monsters, but they had to fumigate the whole building.

Guess I just told the story!

There was a panicked letter from the client and an absolutely hilarious letter from the factory after their "investigation" assuring us that it wasn't their fault, but shifting the blame to the shipping company. I bet I would get in trouble if I shared the letters, but MAN was it funny. :rotfl:lol:rotfl

The bad translation from Mandarin to English and back didn't help. Poor Chinese fellow kept referring to them as "cockCoaches" rather than cockRoaches. I framed that letter.

Oh, the hazards of slow shipping!!

venkman's buddy WIP Stantz showed up today wondering where those alice frames are.

That looks great! Your WIP Ray Stantz will be complete once you get the nice headsculpt from Chris Howes. :D

Wow, I gotta get my Ghostbusters set of heads from him someday. :monkey2

I'm still interested in this entire project. Just don't have much spending money right now.

Speaking of the Ray head... What is the current status? When will we see first pics??? Any idea when you start with it Chris? Or is there still something missing to get started???:whip

:banana:wacky:joy

I'll be getting underway very shortly. Trying to get a few other things wrapped up to clear some time. Gotta finish Michael Caine/Alfred (almost ready for photos, I swear!!!) and Summer Glau (photo's up now!). I'll then have a little room for Ray while concurrently working on Sarah Jane Smith and Tom Baker Doctor Who heads.

So, all my projects are progressing and Ray is right in there in the mix! I've been watching and re-watching Ghostbusters in preparation! I'm gonna love this one...

You're a freak... (to be honest I did the same for 4 weeks now) :lol:rotfl:lol

Great to hear things get started... Man I am so courius... But I am looking forward to your Alfred too... Is there already a thread for your 2nd TDK-headset?

Yes, indeed! https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40040

I wanted to be farther along by now, but things have been a "bit" busier than I realized they would be. :google

But Alfred's darn close, finally. If it wasn't for the terrible inconvenience of my "day job" always getting in the way I'd have 'em all done! :lol

how do your heads attach to the body, chris? i hope they have no problem fitting on a dragon body cuz ive already got most of my team assembled. just need to switch the heads out.

I don't have a male Dragon body here, just a female, but as I understand it, the attachment system is like that of Hot Toys. I may be wrong, but aren't the neck joints interchangeable?

I may as well talk about this now: I don't like the HT small neck joint. The material doesn't lend itself to painting, and it's designed for PVC heads so you have to drill the neck out of a resin head and pot it in using epoxy or similar material. I haven't seen anyone address this obvious problem with custom resin heads, so, I've engineered my own HT compatible resin neck joint.

I call it the Howes Resin Head Attachment System or HRHAS (pronounced "harrass" ! :D) ! It's a resin neck joint that "pops" onto the HT neck post quite nicely. It matches the heads in material and requires little drilling of the head. Easily painted, it glues right on to the neck creating a complete resin custom head solution.

I was thinking of offering this option rather than doing all that drilling for other neck joints like I did on my Dark Knight heads.

I'll post photos in a few days and see if folks would like to try it out.

So, it should work for your Dragon bodies, as well. If I'm wrong about HT and Dragon neck joint compatibility, could someone please correct me? Thanks!

I think the HT short neck attaches pretty much the same way as DML ones do, but haven't tried it.

i should have 4 coming my way from a fellow freak. look for pics of a couple fully mounted and complete proton packs in my thread in the coming weeks.

Awesome, Craw!

Now that I have most of what I need, I'm itching to start working on them. I still need a few small odds and ends aside from the Ray, Egon, and Winston heads. Something for the circuit board on the belt, and then the yellow hose.

Hey gang,
Alright, I wanted to give you all an update on the jumpsuit/alice pack progress, because it's just weird. The last inquiry letter I sent to Storeroom.com was a month ago asking how it was progressing, if they had started since they said they'd do it, etc, and they never replied, so I've just written them again.

It's ridiculous with the numbers we need that they haven't responded after they said they would do it.

What I wanted to ask you all to do if you have a moment is to write them a polite, quick little letter at [email protected] and ask how the progress is going on the uniforms and packs and how excited you are.
We have a ton of people who wanted these. If even half of you write them it ought to be daunting that that many customers will be miffed if they are now deciding not to do it, because I understand it taking a while to get back to me, but a month is rude when we're talking business and after all the e-mails we traded.

The wait is over... my Venkman heads and proton packs have finally arrived!!! All is right in the world again! :D

Thanks Rick! :chew :chew :chew :chew :chew :chew
