"The landmark sci-fi / comedy mashup Ghostbusters arrived in movie theaters 30 years ago this weekend — but if you were too young to catch the film on the big screen back in 1984, you're getting another chance this summer. According to Entertainment Weekly, Ghostbusters will be re-released in more than 700 theaters on August 29th, the centerpiece of a campaign to celebrate the enduringly popular film's milestone birthday."

Count me in, definitely seeing it.

Hope they do the same over here in Britland, never seen it on the big screen :(

Ooh and maybe a remastered Blu release to follow hopefully. Because I'm sure as hell not buying that grainy so called HD POS that's available at the moment!....... My DVD looks better!

I've never seen a good transfer on the film on Blu Ray, or two separate DVD releases. I saw this last year at the theaters, and will see it again if it plays here again.

30th Anniversary Blu Ray set too...

The Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray, as well as the Ghostbusters II 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray will be available on Sept. 16. It’s the first time the 1989 sequel has been released on Blu-ray, and special features include new conversations with director Ivan Reitman and Aykroyd, as well as deleted scenes from the sequel. “

I'd love to see this on the big screen again. I'm going to have to keep an eye out to see if it will be on somewhere near me. Plus the 2-pack Bluray is a must-buy.
