hes still a ninja in the movie, notice all the other ninjas wearing trenchcoats?

heres your prize...

The red ninjas in the trailers stick out like a sore thumb to me, cobras bad *** military forces plus some guys who look like they stumbled out of a halloween party.
Yeah, maybe its just me who can't abide by the ninja look in a live action setting, but i'm sure there are a lot of people who feel the same way.
I suppose i can't blame ninjas for having their look bastardized by a million wannabes and guys who couldn't think of anything better to dress up as for steve's costume party, and i'm sure a lot of modern day ninjas would wear the look with pride, its just with all the "updates" the other characters have recieved to their looks i'd have been very surprised if they went with the traditional look.

functionality.

ninja trench coats. its tantamount to wearing high heals for mountain climbing. classy as ****, stupid idea none the less.

Because storm shadows look was already so practical for a ninja? stark white?

Okay okay i'm throwing in the towel; the movie look isn't any more believable then traditional ninja attire would be. I guess i was looking at it from an "average joe" perspective who doesn't know much about gi joe and might find a ninja outfit quite silly.

Larry Hama saw Retaliation and weighs in:

"I liked RETALIATION a lot. Vast improvement over ROC. Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow are much more up front, and the whole thing is a lot more character-driven. Not only is there no sinking ice, but the big finale involves physical action with people rather than choreography of CGI vehicles. The Rock is perfect as Roadblock, and Bruce Willis's take on Joe Colton is brill (he has some of the best lines.) There's no sign of Scarlett, but the actress who plays Lady Jaye is quite good. Jinx is amazing. Flint is kind of meh. Overall, the direction is terrific and crisp. I can tell what is going on all the time, and everything LOOKS great. Ninja fight sequence in the mountains is amazing, in that you never lose track of what is happening, and there's a ton of fast visual input. Is there stuff I didn't like? That would be quibbling. The positive outweighs the negative here. And I walked out feeling that the characters had been treated with respect."

Holy Speed Racer flashbacks Batman! :lol

The ninjas going for the zip line reminded me of so many Speed Racer episodes where the racers had to make jumps and half the cars would fail.
