I may be in the minority here, but I'm really diggin' this re-imagining of one of my childhood favourite toys/comics.

I'm enjoying it so much that I'm going to imagine going to the theatre and instead stay home to watch the paint dry on my new office walls.

Ummmm...... What the FRAKK is that? That is NOT the Cobra Commander I know from my childhood! Oh wait...now we have to "reinvent" him. Why? Because the "old school" Cobra Commander in the blue helmet with the face shield, or his other hooded look...won't work in the ultra hip 2000's.

Oh yeah...let's put the entire G.I. Joe team in all black....just like...the X-Men. The only character that SHOULD be in all black, my favorite character, Snake Eyes.

I've been a G.I. Joe fan since my childhood in the 1980's. I really hope this movie DOES NOT suck!

I see a lot of parallels here with the scene in ANH where Ben talks to Luke about the Clone Wars and how awesome life was before the Empire. I have a feeling we'll be doing the same mentioning how good G.I. Joe's comic and hell, even the cartoon was, before this movie. It's really a shame that this is bunghole of a movie is what the new generation will think when they hear G.I. Joe....

Gordon-Levitt confirmed for MTV News last year that Cobra Commander would be wearing a mask for the movie and feature “hours of prosthetic makeup” that would turn him into “a different creature altogether.”

The look of this new action figure certainly corroborate those claims, opting for a look far outside the range of costumes that the character has donned in the past. The product description also says that the toy will come armed with a “M.A.R.S. Industries radical exponential nano-injector system,” dropping a few vocabulary terms that may be useful for Joe fans gearing up for the film.

The card also sports images of Conrad “Duke” Hauser, Snake Eyes, Shana “Scarlet” O’Hara, Storm Shadow (in COBRA regalia) and an Ice-Viper — all of which lend credence to Gordon-Levitt’s assessment that the film will be anything but an “exact replica of the cartoon.”

Why does everyone always point to "the cartoon" as reference for original RAH? It's the g'damn Larry Hama Marvel comics that owns all and should be the basis for any serious attempt at adaptation.

Look at it this way. It's pretty much bottomed out. I'm so jaded from this movie's updates that the only thing that'd be worse is if I got mugged, duct taped to a theatre chair and forced to watch it.

Oh, so do I! I was referring to a specific torture scene involving a chair. Watching this G.I. JOE movie will be like that.
