Exactly. The only "good" bad movie Sommers ever made was DEEP RISING.

and i guess that' s my biggest beef with the g.i. joe movie. i don't care that stuff was changed, looks different, whatever. it's not arah, the cartoon, comic...i get that. i am more offended by awful movie making. what kind of measuring stick is 'not as bad as transformers 2'?

Got to love this description of the last movie comic:

G.I. JOE MOVIE ADAPTATION #4
Denton Tipton (w) • Casey Maloney (a)

The conclusion of the big-screen epic! And the ending is not what you expect. Things may just go from bad to worse!

32 pages, $3.99, in stores on July 22.

:lol

Just saw a new TV spot.

For a movie that turned G.I. Joe into an international force, they actually had the nerve to use Kid Rock's "American Badass" in the ad. First, a crappy choice.

Second..."American"??!!!

They must mean Scarlett...oh yeah that's right...

:rotfl :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

Then why is it still referred to as "Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity"? I'm pretty sure I saw it in either the book or on one of the toys.

Yup, something like that. I've read the first three issues of the comic book adaptation. The movie version of GI Joe is basically an arm of NATO - all soldiers from various countries.

I'm pretty sure that Global crap was debunked long a go.

Not at all. It's completely there. In the film G.I. JOE is ultimately run by an offshoot of NATO, and is not U.S. military special forces. They changed the logo from the American Flag to the stupid Hawk shield thing, changed Scarlet's hometown from Atlanta to somewhere in Canada (that is completely :lol considering why her name is Scarlet in the first place), Snake Eyes is actually from Japan (though has American parents), Breaker is Middle Eastern, blah, blah, blah...

Horrible.

Ah. Well, the reason why I was sure was because Duke, Waynes, Scarlett and Hawk are all american. So only Snake Eyes, and the two other black guys arent.

Which makes it even more stupid that they gave Baroness the "real American heroes" line in the trailer. As if they're trying to trick us into believing this GI Joe team is the real deal. I wonder if that line will be redubbed to "real ________ heroes" with the blank being whatever country the movie is released in.
