How gay is that.

How lame is it that the GI Joe team wears pajamas covered in little labels that say GI Joe (and look utterly stupid) and yet no one from Cobra actually wears the Cobra symbol? And I like Storm Shadow's bathrobe. We all know that ninjas love it when lots of flowy clothing gets in the way. :lol

IMDB has Brendan Fraser as Gung Ho? He's going to shave he's head..... what a miss-cast. I'm a big GI Joe fan, and still have my old Hasbro figures from the 80's. But this looks bad, and it could be awesome. I was hyped after ordering SS Snake Eyes and thinking about the possibilites with such unique characters. But from this pics, the 'character' is gone. I hope SS dosen't make figures based on this film.

And, seriously, if you like the movie version better than there is almost no way you can be a G.I. JOE fan.

LOL - I must have missed the rule book on what I am required to like as a fan. If you have that on disk, would you email it to me? I'll check Amazon.com in the mean time. I'll be looking for a rule that reads something like this:

Rule 437 - As a true G.I. Joe fan, you may never be open-minded enough to accept new interpretations of characters, uniforms, or equipment. If it does not look exactly like the comic books from the 80's, it will not be accepted as G.I. Joe lore under any circumstance. Any behavior contrary to the exact wording of this rule will result in the offending "fan"'s being stripped of the title of G.I. Joe fan.

:D

I do have reservations about the choices of actors to play the characters. But then, I did about Iron Man as well and I was dead wrong there. So I'll reserve my opinion on that aspect until I see the movie.

Here is an interesting note. No big deal, just a quip I thought I would share.

I remember when the wrestler, Sgt Slaughter, was given a G.I. Joe character. At the same time, I was in the Marines and we had a Sgt Slaughter in my unit. We gave him a hard time about having a G.I. Joe figure. If I got the story accurately, his wife won a bunch of money in a lottery, but he stayed in the Marines anyway.

It is a movie that is about the characters.
Take it for entertainment.
It will not change the characters at all, unless you let it.
If you want to follow them, read the comics.
