I actually kinda like the idea of Godzilla bein' Earth personified as a giant tree-like monster and mankind bein' hi-tech unnatural aggressors... But the presentation is just too on the nose here, plus I hate the tech designs.

Godzilla's details are bad, but the the lighting and cinematography are really cool, shame it's not used on a better design.

I have to say... this design grew on me (pun intended) very fast. There's just something interesting in such a minimalistic yet radical treatment of Gojira. It goes beyond traditional depiction and explores aspects of the character that weren't present in 1954 film. It feels kinda silly and on the nose... but hey, so does giant radioactive fire breathing dinosaur! His face looks old and tired, just like the franchise itself.

My issues with the design are the face, the physique of his legs and the literal leaf spines. His legs look to thin to hold up a body as hefty as he has, his face looks like a puppy that would make you go "aww" and the spines being leafs just look weird, wish they were just an extension of his bark body.
