Well for one it looks almost identical to the g14 Godzilla and 2 his skin looks like muscle tissue.

Pretty much yeah.

He has a little bit of Shin's outer layer but a more muscular version.

To me, it looks almost like his body is made from trees, like the feet and face, it doesn't seem like an animal.

Cut them trademark spines and he'd look generic AF.

It almost feels like they chose that texture for Godzila because it's easy to render...I especially feel it when I look at the screenshot of the bird monster, who seems to have the same texture as G...

I unno...

I definitely believe they're taking the idea of him being godly or nature's wrath to a new level with this film and that he is not just some animal but a physical manifestation of the earth.

In posters and such, it looks kind of meh, but some of the trailer shots look wild.
