Thanks for the detailed explanation dude! Really appreciate it! So with regard to the Diamond release where can I get it from? (I'm not familiar ) Would be really nice to have Hedorah. Him and Biollante are my top two favourite!
The websites that will for sure carry the new releases (as in actually have preorders when they're announced) are Entertainment Earth, Anime Island, Amok Time, and Things From Another World. Most people typically order from the first two or three, but be advised that Entertainment Earth experienced some delays in receiving their figure shipments for the last wave. Ultimately it's up to you.
Amazon has also been known to carry the Diamond reissues, but I would use them only as an absolute last resort. To ensure you get the actual intended price and timely shipping, go with one of the previously-mentioned retailers. There's no telling how many of these make it to Amazon, how much they'll cost, and how fast they'll sell out. For instance, the first wave's Godzilla '54 and Mechagodzilla '74 remained on Amazon for a few months for under $150, but everything that's come out since either sold out rapidly or is listed for way too much money. Too unpredictable.
Last bit of advice is to treat these as if they were fresh Japanese releases. In other words, don't hesitate too long before preordering because, like their original Japanese counterparts, when they're gone -- they're gone. Aftermarket pricing on the Gargantuas is huge and the Godzilla '64 (which is expected to ship this month) has sold out in preorders everywhere except Entertainment Earth.
I'd recommend joining the X-Plus Kaiju Collectors' Club on Facebook. All of these things and more are explained, plus you have a large community of seasoned collectors that can help you out.
can anyone share more info about the burning godzilla? i want to buy if it lights up. how tall will it be? thanks
We're assuming the Ric Boy edition (exclusive to X-Plus' website) will have a light-up feature, but we're not sure at this point. X-Plus hasn't created a product page for the gigantic Burning Godzilla on their site yet so it's hard to tell what the standard and exclusive editions will come with. Know that if you end up wanting the exclusive, it will be pricier and you'll either have to set up a package forwarding service like Tenso or pay someone with a Tenso to buy it for you. For you too, I suggest joining the X-Plus Kaiju Collectors' Facebook group. There are members on there that you can go through to get your exclusives if you want to take that route, plus lots more help in other topics.
As for the size, we have this information from AmiAmi:
"Appx. H48 x W87.5cm including the tail"
Nearly 19 inches tall and 34.5 inches long. No information on the width of the figure. Keep in mind that these numbers
may change. It doesn't happen often, but I remember people being bummed out when the 30cm '99 Godzilla was announced that his height measurements were small. Upon release, he was larger and properly in-scale with his 30cm buddies.
