Got '94 yesterday. Awesome figure but you can definitely FEEL the progress SHMA has made with these figures.

Though I still am annoyed at how small '64 is. With that being said I still love it. I can't help but love it. Lol

I actually think the monsterarts might be an improvement of the on-screen design. He's definitely bought. Very ferocious looking...which is the utmost importance to me.

Good gets Viking and Jye.

And I agree.there is just something majestic about Godzilla '64, flaws and all. And he's more fun to pose.

Heres a question: If you collect Godzilla or more specifically the various versions of him that have appeared over the years do you feel that you need the 98 Godzilla to complete that collection despite it being an atrocity? Without him isn't such a collection technically incomplete?

Good question. I don't feel the need to include him. To me hes not really Godzilla. I consider him another unrelated monster to have shown up and he was incorrectly given the name of a giant sea-dwelling monster. Just like if a giant hairy 12 foot tall monster really appeared in the mountains we'd probably call him Big Foot even if he wasn't exactly like the Big Foot that there have been rumors about.

Having said that, if he looked awesome I'd still be tempted like I am of all the other monsters that I like but havent bought.

I have no desire at all to buy anything 98 related. Personally I'd just like to forget it ever happened. :wink1:

Hated the design, hated the movie.

This shot reminds me very much of my favorite money shot from the movie....a bit of ferocity that I just can't get my NECA one to convey.

It's a toss up, with NECA, you get film accuracy, with Monsterarts, you get his attitude. It sucks that you can't get both from one of them.

There are things I really like about the SHMA version that make me want to get it, but unless Sideshow sells it and I can use reward points to reduce the cost.

I do love that SHMA has that skin between his jaws that NECA is missing but it's small enough I don't care. The only detail on SHMA I really wish NECA had was more upper jaw teeth.

I don't like how SHMA lacks distinct qualities to his face that NECA got, the boxy quality and all.

Its true MaulFan. I think id rather have the presence on my shelf that the SHMA will give off. It'll be easier to pose in more dynamic ways. I cant wait.

The neca one is great so nobody loses

Without a doubt this is a day one purchase for me. That roar pose!
