Well the Ryu Oyama sculpted the feet a bit larger on the Kaibutsuya kit than the actual suit, almost like '54 feet on the '84 body, but I kind of like it, makes him look powerful.

It's the same sculptor as the GMK and Burning G that X-Plus used for their Gigantic figures, so I'd expect the same style of texture to his skin on the '84, just smaller.

It's a fantastic sculpt and with the right paint, a very powerful and evil looking Godzilla, that's why I love it, it brings out the best of the '84 suit, but it's also still very suit like, it's no idealized like X-Plus sculpts are.

Interview with Sakai about Monsterarts, he hopes to do an '84 and '54 in the future, I really hope they let him :D Also interest in the Showa versions of Ghidorah, Mothra and Rodan, that'd be awesome. He also mentions wanting to include a train, not sure if he means with '54, '84 or both but that'd be an awesome accessory. He did it with the '84 for his diorama.

As a personal hope, primary Godzilla I want to make. But I like also 1984 edition Godzilla, I want or to have a bullet train (laughs). If enemy monster, still Showa version King Ghidorah. Showa edition of radon and Mothra also personally want to. Since there is a monster that has not been still release, we want to continue to make all means. Basic will stick to Godzilla, but I would like to various challenge the enemy monster. In fact, the prototype of the new shape completely work also has just delivered. Please expect in the future.

It's the Kaibutsuya kit that Dunk is molded from. Apparently DUNK is being called ARCO and releasing the 84 again as a 50 piece release at Wonderfest, cast in orange, but who cares once it's painted.

Not sure where the whole Rice Krispies thing came from, I've never seen that in him.

These are from an eBay auction for a resin cast of the sculpt, not sure if original Kaibutsuya or what, you can never tell with eBay.

Some other shots from the web.

Holy Rice Krispies! :lol

I posted this over in the Godzilla maquette thread, but maybe some of you never want to visit that thread again. Did some quick dry brushing, only an hour to try and spice this up. Got some good results. The factory could have done just as well with a mere 60 minutes.

Looks very nice. I want this, but 8 bills is just a bit much.

I saw this on Facebook. I guess the next Gigantic X-Plus figure is going to be the Sakai maquette version of Godzilla 2000.

:thud: :thud: :thud: :thud: :thud: :thud: :thud:

Just so I make sure I understand this.

A gigantic version of the SHMA 2000? :panic:

If that is the case:

A. There is a God after all.
B. There are also divorce lawyers.

Very interesting, X-Plus seems to be dividing their releases between their own in house work and release old Sakai sculptures. The more work of his they churn out the better for collectors, a lot of his stuff has been limited run private sales that you can't even get your hands on and this brings it to mass availability.

Jesus, it will be a mad rush to get him. The fandom loves some Sakai 2000. I literally have no place for this guy right now. But I don't know if I could pass him up.
