I can't tell if it's some form of greed, or if Shin really is so popular overseas still that there is demand for product so high that even a conceptual, not 100% authentic statue replica will even sell, just crazy how many Shin related products have been put out, in just 2 years it has way more merchandise than designs that are decades old.

Yeah, they did a good job of making changes without being extreme. I don’t think the movie will explain it, seems like the director’s whim mainly, but you could believe it as evolutionary or a consequence of radiation exposure from the last film.

I apologize for getting off topic but I need some advice or help from some fellow Freaks bere. Here's the deal back in August of last year I preordered the SH MonsterArts Godzilla 1962 off of eBay from a seller who has 100% positive feedback.
Well, it's now March and I still haven't received my order as he told me to wait at least till mid February. There was no tracking provided. He responded by saying that he'd send me a replacement or give a refund. Now his latest reply has been switched to a refund only. The problem is that filing a claim with PayPal is no good since the days to file a claim have expired.
I just wanted the figure but I guess I'm out the $88 I paid. Is there ways of reporting the seller?

Man hard to believe we still haven't got any scoops on the new 2019 Godzilla KOTM statues from SS. The closest we've seen is the X-Plus Gigantic series G19 which looks absolutely fabulous. Now if only SS could give us a King Ghidora in scale with that G14 24" maquette, I would sell my soul to the devil!

It's a pretty nice upgrade both in paint and sculpt from the 2014 version, already got it pre ordered. Now hope they would release a 24" HTT Godzilla too just like the G14 back then, this baby in a large scale should look monumentally amazing.
A new 12" tall version of the NECA with the paint apps and detail of the 6" 2019 would be amazing, BUT, I really, really hope if they do it, this time around they put a little effort to polish up the teeth, it's the biggest let down on the 2014 version. At 6" scale, it's tolerable, but at the large scale, they don't even really look like teeth and it makes him look a little goofy, hell even the $20 12" Jackks has sharper, more fang looking teeth.
Sadly, this is setting a bar for NECA to beat with a potential 12" tall version.
That said, even if it's just slightly different like the 6", that NECA has a proper gray tone to him and not almost black with odd blue skin highlighting is a huge improvement. Their 2014 figures were taken down quite a notch by paint that lost the sculpt and looked cartoony.
Even in this picture, it makes his skin almost look greenish, and the brown on his neck and stomach should have a dry brush look and not solid color.

True, the G19 version looks vastly improved in paint, it's lighter so you can see more, the brushes blend together more naturally with more subtle tones and more small variations in coloring. Also the sculpt is much more raised now so you can see all the finer details like scales, creases a lot clearer and sharper. This is borderlining SHM in detail if not more true to the film. Can't start to imagine how glorious the larger scale one would be .

What would be incredible is an 18" version.

The us ric site https://us.ric-toy.com has both the ric exclusive Godzilla ‘99 as well as this insane Atragon vs Manda diorama up for preorder. I ordered the Godzilla this morning. So glad I don’t have to use a middle man service!

Never seen the movie but that's an awesome looking piece. Way too pricey for me though.
Should see the aftermarket price for the original release of it. Routinely sells for $1100 in Japan.

If you like Toho effects movies, it’s pretty awesome. It’s about a rogue Japanese naval commander who’s refused to accept their defeat in WW2. He’s got a secret navy and has been building a super submarine on a remote island. When the Mu Empire (think Japanese version of Atlantis) attacks the surface dwellers, the world implores him to forget the past and help them survive for the future. It’s a cool story with lots of great Tsuburaya effects from when he as at the top of his game.

Wow, I didn't think I would see them release that again. I have the original and have never displayed it. Could never quite comfortably get Manda around Atragon. Always felt like I would scratch the pieces (they are resin) or I would snap Manda in half.
