I know people have posted about these before but I just got the Godzilla cup and top in the mail (not my pic). I got two of them for my kids for Christmas.... IMO it's one of the best... If not the best, Godzilla 2014, sculpts out there.

I...I need this. How do i get one?

I'm giving very serious thought to going on a cup noodles diet for this :drool

Ya know... I never cared for how.... I don't know... almost "stone like" the original kits skin texture looked... I don't know if the Xplus shrinkage took some of that look away or what.

Interesting. I see what you're saying, but I attribute the more stone-like appearance of the original resin kit to the paint-job than the sculpt itself. Texture-wise they also look very similar, though that's just my impression from the pictures.

I always see the resin kit in that "shade", I always was under the same impression. It looks too "polystone"-ish.

As for the cup, I saw those in person but was not paying $30 a pop. It's neat though.

But you guys bring up a point that I've been thinking of. There really isn't a truly accurate representation of Godzilla 2014. It must be a very hard sculpt to bring to life in plastic form. Nobody has been able to. I love NECA's big guy, but aside from the front angle, the face looks too streamlines and flat. His eyes are obviously very wrong too (though I think it is an improvement and a smart idea for the figure). But nothing has succeeded in getting those grooves and facial details down.

Ok, can Hot Toys get the guy who sculpted that cup and make a fierce 12" 2014 Godzilla?

But I remember when I use to see the original on ebay I just never got into it.. Even looking at them side by side I prefer the look of the Xplus version. BTW the original is nice... It just never convinced me to get it like the X plus version did.

Here is a video of one that lights up by L.W. Studio's Perhaps it's the paint apps but I just don't care for the texture of his skin in this video.

there were alot of recast of this figure on ebay including the one sold by L. W. studios and most were horrible castings. My resin kit has tons of detail but really does not look like Godzilla type skin. there is no question that the x-plus GBG has softer detail that works in its favor to create a more accurate look to the skin. I am so glad X-plus released this figure because not only is it one of the coolest figures out there but being it has sold so well, it should convince x-plus to continue releasing there gigantic series for at least a few more years.

But thats the question. Where do they pull from now because I dont think there are any more kits by that manufacturer in that scale.

The nycc exclusive looks neat. If I see it I may pick it up. Looking for a monsterarts 2014 and/or space godzilla. Maybe junior too. I dont expect to see any x-plus there but then again since the movie came out vendors might have some

Interesting.... Thanks for the info...

X-Plus used some existing kits for their 30 cm line, but then they started doing original sculpts as well in that scale. I suppose there's a chance that they'll do original sculpts for the Gigantic line as well if they want to do a particular version that doesn't have an existing kit that fits their vision.

All I know is if they can nail a Godzilla 2014 in that epic roaring pose at the end after killing the muto and have that be GBG size I'm reordering the **** out of that.

I was thinking of getting the monster arts 2014 version but I've been hearing so much negativity about it and the youtube reviews are so mixed.

If anyone that owns this version, is it really that bad:dunno

Well.....

He came with one knee joint out from its socket, I had to snap it back in with plyers (rubber tipped, like stuff my wife keeps in her night stand).

Ummm, what else...

His tail mid section popped off, I popped it back on, easy.

I love mine.

The SHMA 2014's "look" is really up to the talent of the person posing him. His flaws are really only noticeable from very close up.

His spines are the best rendition of any 2014 figure though. I love their look and feel.

And just like Bunring Godzilla and Junior Rebirth, he has gaps, but he can be posed to hide those gaps.
