They did well with the way the heads interacted with each other and used teamwork like moving eachother into position, pulling the other out of danger, moving eachother to look at things etc.

Left head - disobedient and a trouble maker with bad attention span.

Main head - the most evil one that gives the orders (watch him look and signal the other two to charge the gravity beam with him). He got annoyed with the left head a lot. :lol

Right head - a bit clueless and doesn't get involved much but obedient and quick to help the others in trouble.

You got alot of head out of this movie then.

Sad. My theater had a dozen at most. But I went late and a lot of schools are still in session. I'm hoping it does well. I'd love for this series to continue.

Its like Transformers, its a knock'em, sock'em, rock'em type film, and isn't going to win any Oscars. However, it may be in the running for some Saturn awards which is the best the studio could probably ask for. It is merely a summer popcorn flick for me and not to be taken too seriously. I went for the monster action and nothing more and the film does deliver!

I hope to see it again in the coming weeks.

Oh I forgot to mention one thing in my review I don’t know if this matters to anyone but it does for me I don’t appreciate taking my son to a Godzilla movie so he can watch characters say the F and S word for no freaking reason especially the F word, none.

TOHO never did it so why does this movie feel the need that it was needed.

Ok fine who can ever forget “Godzilla sucka D” from GAM lol

But that was just a whimsical translation foopaa that is still pretty damn hilarious.

Agreed, the F bomb was pointless, at times it can add to the weight of a moment but having seen all the ads with it absent from that moment, I was fine with the cut version. If anything, I'd also pull the finger flip out too, pointless sass moment that wasn't necessary for anything.

Hope Charles Dance comes back in GvK, he's a good actor for a driving villain and I want more of his character.

As far as the 3 personas to Ghidorah, to be honest, I was a bit nervous about this from all the pre-release hype, I thought it was a cool idea but worried they'd go too far and lose that sense of Ghidorah being a single being and I thought what they gave is is a good balance of bringing and interesting trait to a known character without going to overboard that you deviate too much from the origins. However, I can definitely understand someone being let down by what we got if you liked what you heard about the concept and expected much more with it, thankfully it worried me so I was relieved.

I definitely am glad the marketing really didn't build much up about the plot, I went in with no story/plot expectations and was able to enjoy it for what it was instead of having my theories and ideas squashed like they were in 2014.

Agreed. He's an amazing actor and I wish his character had more development and screen time. Something tells me he'll play a more vital role in the next sequel.

Yeah 14 was such a kick in the nuts after those amazing trailers.

Trailers for this though gave too much away

Yes Dance was really good loved him (as was Vera) and yes middle finger not needed.

I hope WB releases an extended cut of this I want more monster mayhem.

I heard rumblings of a 3 hour cut of the film but don't know if it will ever see the light of day. A director's cut of G14 was promised but it must've been scrapped.

Remember this cool shot of the male MUTO swooping down from that amazing Asian trailer that oversold the movie? Nowhere to be seen in the theatrical. :slap

We actually got the reverse angle, that moment is in the movie but it's seen from behind Godzilla as the MUTO swoops in.

Poor TOHO you know you got respect them for the men in suit era but I just finished rewatching parts of cgi Shin and holy crap there is just no comparison to what Hollywood 200 million brings to the table.

By the way did you see just how long the credit list was for the VFX houses for KOTM it was staggering! :google

Reviews here seem to be about what I expected from the "can't wait" crowd. Maybe a little less enthusiasm actually.

KG...In the Toho films, he was basically a mindless destroyer with no real motivation or purpose....

What was his motivation/purpose in this one?

In the old movies, he always seemed more like a super weapon used by aliens to conquered Earth.

So same purpose then?

OK. I never really fretted too much about the three-headed space dragon's motivations. What does Ghidorah want? Seemed like a silly question for a kill-beast.

Chew on these unfortunate statistics.

14 opened with an impressive 93 million.

Kong 61.

KOTM projected 50-55.

Why are they still making these?

What’s next GvK opens to 45!

WB the only studio that looks at those openings as proper trajectory lol

Hopefully it gets that same good box office surprise Aladdin got.

But my showing lastnight was in a near empty screen. :monkey2

Did everyone see Grace’s review face, no? Here it is lol

Not edited that’s freaking real :rotfl

While the domestic opening weekend is down, they're projecting it to do better worldwide this weekend than the others did, looks like China/Japan is going to save the box office on this.

Shin was a better movie, though. ;)
